I didn't pass the first time, using BARBRI. These outlines are SO CONDENSED and yet hit all the right specific notes to get the answers right. I LOVE the analytic options. THANK YOU BARMAX! Im using them for the UBE now, but also used it for the LSAT.

I passed on my first attempt after taking a 25 year hiatus from the law!
BarMax provides concise, easy to use materials for a very reasonable price. There are literally decades of past MEEs and MPTs with both NCBE answers and test taker sample answers all in one place. Additionally, they had over 1300 actual MBE questions including the illusive CivPro MBE questions that has only recently been added.

Fantastic program.
I am about three weeks into the program. The lessons are structured and scheduled in a very reasonable order to ensure success. The pedagogic choices are very well thought out. They have a good sense of when a subject is going to need extra attention and when not to belabor a point. The explanations and lectures are clear and bolstered by practice questions you do independently after the lesson.

BarMax was a huge reason that I passed the February 2025 California Bar Exam. I liked that I could take the course at my own pace without getting bogged down with endless videos. The one-on-one tutoring (my assigned tutor was Melissa) was essential for honing my essay strategy and my overall study strategy. Start early, get BarMax, meet with your tutor, and I'm sure you'll do fine.

I passed with a 23-point jump.
I took the bar exam a total of 4 times and passed on my 4th try thanks to BarMax and especially my tutor, Emily Morgan. Each time I retook this exam, my confidence was crushed. I was in a position where I kept getting the same score for each attempt. I thought I could assess my weaknesses on my own but I truly needed someone to help me understand my thought process.

I passed the February 2025 UBE with a 320!
I took the bar exam in Feb. 2025 as an attorney seeking admission in a new state. I passed the bar 20 years ago in my home state and this was my first time taking a test in 20 years. So to say I felt like I was starting over from scratch and was overwhelmed would be an understatement. Pros of BarMax: Very affordable.
I took the bar exam in Feb. 2025 as an attorney seeking admission in a new state. I passed the bar 20 years ago in my home state and this was my first time taking a test in 20 years. So to say I felt like I was starting over from scratch and was overwhelmed would be an understatement. Pros of BarMax: Very affordable. You can start when you want; you are not beholden to a certain start date which is GREAT for non-traditional takers/people who need more time. They have a very helpful video library on various topics. Instructors are helpful and seem invested in seeing students pass. There is a MASSIVE database of prior NCBE-licensed questions to use for practice with analytics. Nearly all of the MBE questions have explanations which is helpful for learning. You get all the MEE questions going back a long, long way along with the model answers. Cons of BarMax: I think BarMax is best for motivated self-starters. It gives you all the tools and guidelines, but ultimately, it's up to you to leverage those tools. It's probably not the right prep course for people who need a lot of hand-holding and who aren't self-motivated. Also, I did end up supplementing the course with a few free and paid resources. But given the low cost of BarMax, you can easily afford to buy an extra set of outlines like LeanSheets as a supplement. (I also used Brainscape's flashcards.) Verdict: I passed the February 2025 UBE with a 320! We had a particularly difficult administration, with the mean national MBE score being historically low. I was extremely happy with my score (155 MBE/165 writing), very happy with my experience, and very happy with the course. I would recommend BarMax to returning attorney takers who need a course with no fluff, and to self-motivated examinees on a budget who want just what they need to pass and nothing more.

I am a Law Office Study Program (LOSP) student and I used BarMax FYLSE to prepare for the October 2024 Baby Bar. I’m proud to say I passed the exam on my first try! As an LOSP student, I needed a bar prep program that wouldn’t expire after a few months. I wanted something I could use throughout my four-year journey to the bar exam.

Passed the CA Bar Exam in July 2025.
I have been attempting to pass the CA Bar exam with many attempts and have been unsuccessful in the past, but I am persistent to keep trying, studying, and passing with BarMax.

It requires time management and organization skills the most, I believe, and lots of practice, which is why I am trusting in the best feedback of professors and experienced legal professionals to help me finally pass and move forward. It is my final hurdle to moving forward and I plan to focus more and just do the work.

Excellent Platform for L1 and Bar Preparation.
I worked with tutor Jennifer Carr and she was wonderful. Very approachable and thorough in her explanations and made certain to hold me accountable for coming to sessions with work done and ready to be discussed with her. I was able to raise my final grades significantly from Midterm grades, and will continue to utilize Barmax for my law school journey and bar prep. Highly recommend.

I passed the New York bar on my first attempt whilst working full time (and planning a wedding!) and put this down to BarMax.
As a foreign qualified lawyer 10 years out of law school, I knew that I needed a flexible study programme to fit in during my limited free time - Bar Max offered exactly that. The course materials are concise and the videos are extremely helpful to guide you through past essay questions / how to approach the multiple choice portion of the exam.

I just passed the July NY Bar by 1 point and have Barmax to thank for it.
I have been out of law school for 15 years and failed three times (only close once) and super glad I used Barmax and not Barbri again. Barmax has everything you really need to succeed for one price -- focused 2 and 3 month study schedules to follow, all the real MBE questions ever released, great short and focused archived online lectures and 10 free essay submissions.

The exam was tougher than I expected and I was slow as shit sometimes on the essays, but still felt well prepared. Thank god I got one more question right than wrong otherwise I'd be standing on a rooftop somewhere. Anyway, for those that failed, my advice is don't give up and find yourself a solid program like Barmax.

VERY GRATEFUL TO BARMAX TO HELP ME SUCCEED
I am the unconventional student, but I NEVER gave up on myself despite ALL the obstacles and odds against me. I am VERY GRATEFUL to BarMax for helping me along my journey to becoming a licensed attorney. I have taken the Bar exam countless times really and I am honestly nervous as I await the November 8 results.

Nevertheless, I KNOW I AM a lawyer and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BarMax to anyone who is self dedicated and self disciplined. I never had the resources financially to afford private tutoring much, so I am still appreciative of the ability to study and test my knowledge as I reach for the fullest of my potential. In a day and age where there are more questions than answers, I am grateful I can learn the law in a practical fashion and make the MOST of my time. I am eternally grateful that the instructors like Celeste, Jennifer, Mehran are ALWAYS here for me. It is REAL instructors and mentors like them that remind me of my passion to help the world become a better place and helps me never to give up my dreams of being a catalyst for change in such a society that needs LAWS to be changed.

Passed the bar.
I used only their prooducts to get a mega bar score, WAY above what I needed to pass. They didn't send me an avalanche of books and I did not study like a wild animal. The folks that work there are also pleasant and helpful.

Passed working full-time, 18 years after graduation
Took the bar for the first time in July 2024, after graduating from law school in 2006. I was, of course, working full-time while studying, and BarMax allowed me to spread my studying across six months. I couldn't have done it otherwise. I also credit BarMax's use of exclusively released MBE questions with my success.

Across every topic, I went into the exam feeling prepared, despite having never taken several MEE subjects during law school. And I earned a 330 as a result!

I would recommend BarMax to anyone who has taken time off since studying or who needs convenience or flexibility.
I can’t thank BarMax enough! I enjoyed BarMax because it provided me with the flexibility I needed, provided targeted studying on highly tested areas, and provided access to many different resources such as office hours, actual NCBE MBE questions, and most beneficial to me, a tutor! I missed Feb 2024 20 points (needed a 270), decided to stick with BarMax, studied for July 2024, but with the additional help of a tutor. My tutor Nate, was the absolute best! He literally explained the information in a way that just made it make sense! He would always provide context and background information which would lay a foundation to the rules and why the rules made sense! He also helped build my confidence which impacted my performance. I scored a 287 on the North Carolina July 2024 bar and I can confidently say both BarMax and Nate were huge contributing factors in my success!I would recommend BarMax to anyone who has taken time off since studying or who needs the convenience or flexibility that BarMax provides. This is the only prep course that you will need to be successful on the Bar exam.
I have taken the Bar exam more times than I care to admit but have finally passed in July 2024. My success can be attributed to the BarMax program itself, as well as the availability of the instructors to provide assistance and insight. The study schedule is laid out in a manner that really spoke to way I learn and made the huge amount of information easily digestible.

I have used other Bar prep programs that seem to take pride in the amount of study materials that they send ultimately leading to overwhelming anxiety. BarMax provided two (2!!!) books, one of which was past MBE questions. Only the most tested information is provided and explained professors with an exceptional grasp on any given subject area that may be tested on the exam. I know I sound like I am a paid employee but trust me when I tell you that this is the only prep course that you will need to be successful on the Bar exam.

Bar Max has been extremely helpful and patient throughout my journey in becoming a lawyer.
It takes a LOT of persistence, patience, and a lot of organization to just get the maximum points to convey competency. It has been very stressful balancing my lack of personal life with the stresses and pressures of passing such an important exam and getting into the mindset for me seems to be the biggest block, just because I do not have the financial stability and other things going on.

Still useful as an attorney.
I still use the outlines as a touch point for black letter law or, for example remembering what the defenses to contract formation are vs excuses from performance etc.
