I am a Law Office Study Program (LOSP) student and I used BarMax FYLSE to prepare for the October 2024 Baby Bar. I’m proud to say I passed the exam on my first try! As an LOSP student, I needed a bar prep program that wouldn’t expire after a few months. I wanted something I could use throughout my four-year journey to the bar exam.

I passed the New York bar on my first attempt whilst working full time (and planning a wedding!) and put this down to BarMax.
As a foreign qualified lawyer 10 years out of law school, I knew that I needed a flexible study programme to fit in during my limited free time - Bar Max offered exactly that. The course materials are concise and the videos are extremely helpful to guide you through past essay questions / how to approach the multiple choice portion of the exam.

Passed working full-time, 18 years after graduation
Took the bar for the first time in July 2024, after graduating from law school in 2006. I was, of course, working full-time while studying, and BarMax allowed me to spread my studying across six months. I couldn't have done it otherwise. I also credit BarMax's use of exclusively released MBE questions with my success.

Across every topic, I went into the exam feeling prepared, despite having never taken several MEE subjects during law school. And I earned a 330 as a result!

I can’t thank BarMax enough! I work a full time job, run a business and have a 3 year old, which impacted how and when I could study! I enjoyed BarMax because it provided me with the flexibility I needed, provided targeted studying on highly tested areas, and provided access to many different resources such as office hours, actual NCBE MBE questions, and most beneficial to me, a tutor! I missed Feb 2024 20 points (needed a 270), decided to stick with BarMax, studied for July 2024, but with the additional help of a tutor. My tutor Nate, was the absolute best! He literally explained the information in a way that just made it make sense! He would always provide context and background information which would lay a foundation to the rules and why the rules made sense! He also helped build my confidence which impacted my performance. I scored a 287 on the North Carolina July 2024 bar and I can confidently say both BarMax and Nate were huge contributing factors in my success!I would recommend BarMax to anyone who has taken time off since studying or who needs the convenience or flexibility that BarMax provides. I passed the bar exam with 20 points to spare.
I scored a 286, when passing is a 266. As a full-time lawyer practising in India, I had serious doubts whether I would be able to pass the bar exam. I was looking for a bar prep course that attacked the exam as opposed to a course that exhaustively covered the subjects tested on the exam. With a young family and a full-time practice, time was a scarce commodity. BarMax perfectly fit the bill.

One of the best decisions I took was working with Jennifer Carr as a tutor in the BarMax program. I wanted help with the writing portion of the exam. I told her that the multiple choice portion of the exam was my strength but that I was struggling to write in a way that the bar examiners wanted me to. She really turned things around for me.On the actual exam, my writing score was higher than my score on the multiple choice questions! Took me quite a few tries but I finally passed my UBE with a score high enough to transfer into any state. Being a working single mom, quite a few years out of law school, I had many changes that needed to be made in my life before I was fully able to be prepared.

Having a Bar Prep program, for life, that I never had to worry about losing access to and that was flexible enough to change in accordance with my needs through the process. . . was EVERYTHING! After obtaining my LL.M degree in the U.S. I knew that the next step was taking the NY Bar Exam, which is a major challenge for a Civil Law lawyer (from Chile) like me. I really needed a tool that help me out considering I have a full time job and a family with kids.

BarMax provided me the flexibility to listen to lectures on demand on my schedule while I juggled work and family.
Sometimes I fell behind, but the study calendar was a big help getting me back on track. Outlines were good. Most lecturers did a fine job. A few could have been better, either because they did nothing more than recite the outline verbatim, without clarifying examples, or because they raced through the lecture at breakneck speed such that it was difficult to keep up.

The multi-state multiple choice questions with explanations and the essay questions with sample answers were probably the best resource to gauge one’s progress. The app was great, too.

I am a Canadian lawyer, and a single mom of an 18 month old. BarMax and the team, specially Celeste, were vital to my success. I passed with 8 points to spare, on my first try. Celeste helped me to restructure my study plan according to my life situation.

She gave me practical tips, guided me on how implement the feedback on my essays and never let me give up after not performing too well in the practice exams.I do have one constructive criticism about the course material- the lectures are extremely dry and are almost read word-for-word from the outline which I did not find as helpful and had to supplement with the BarMax office hours (HIGHLY RECOMMEND!) and other free resources online, to better grasp the material (though this may not be an issue for U.S. law school graduates).All around I highly recommend BarMax!! If I did it with all of the life challenges I was facing- anyone can!!

A great refresher of things taught and a much better understanding of how some of the legal theories apply that seemed a little confusing in law school. Almost like that "aha!" moment when the pieces of a puzzle come together.

Best app around. I am a full time working single mom who passed the bar with help from Barmax. Their app is awesome for MBEs and what really helped me was being able to take specific subjects and focus on those rather than just take the questions as they come. They have a reasonable price on everything, including essay grading paid per essay and most importantly they never drop you.

If you fail, you don't have to pay again for the app. They care more about helping you pass than making money like some of their competitors. You may hear a lot about BarMax being the Best. I can truly say BarMax is the Best. I had experience with other bar preps. Without BarMax, however, I would not have passed the California Bar Exam. I took the attorney exam, and the materials saved me time while I was studying, working full-time and raising a family.

The online progress exam kept me on track and helped me to review what I needed to pass. I used BarMax along with reviewing the California Essay Questions that are published online. I am a Washington Law Clerk so I did not go to Law School. I worked full time and have six children, two of whom have autism and three who have ADD. When I’m home they need me.
I am a Washington Law Clerk so I did not go to Law School. I worked full time and have six children, two of whom have autism and three who have ADD. When I’m home they need me. I had to attend several IEP and accommodation meetings for school for all of them, I worked full time, was a Rule 9 appearing in court, and the first night of the bar exam, my one year old got a small fever, and I was up with her all night, and the 2nd night of the test, we had to take her to the ER and I was up again all night with her (it was not serious or contagious thankfully), but she had a fever and needed rest and cuddles. I got about 3 hours of sleep both nights, and I was distracted worrying for my daughter. I was distracted during the test, but I had five hours with a Barmax Tutor, I submitted about 7 practice essays/MPTs, and I had only had about 90 intensive hours to prep for the bar (out of a recommended 400/600 hours). Barmax was on point and it helped me get the materials I needed. I ended up with a 290 which isn’t bad given all the challenges I experienced personally. I think if I had had more study time and a little less adversity on exam days, I might have done much better, but a pass is a pass, and I’m so very happy. I had several contemporaries that used a very famous Barprep company who did the 400 hours and they were overwhelmed and did not pass. I paid a fraction of the price, and passed on my first try, and was less stressed going into the exam. I explained to my tutor at Barmax what my study schedule was, and she was honest, she didn’t think I needed to do 400 hours, but thought I wasn’t going to get enough, but when I said that all I had was about 90 hours. Once she knew I couldn’t squeeze in any more studying she fully committed to my situation and helped me focus in and target the things I needed. I appreciated her honesty and her designing a plan that was perfect for me, and she supported me with what my specific needs and process were. Thank you Barmax!!!! And Thank you Melissa A (my tutor).

I finally passed the Texas UBE exam on my 3rd try. I honestly never thought I would pass. I found BarMax through a family member who offered to pay for the program. When I started using the program all I could think was how easy it was and simple to follow. The program was easy to follow and no hours of home work after. It was simply, listen to the lecture and do some questions open book style.

It was simply, listen to the lecture and do some questions open book style. I quickly realized I was retaining information and actually learning the black letter law. Additionally, there are tons of videos on how to write an MPT and Essays and how to write an Essay on each topic. The videos with Celeste (an instructor for BarMax) explained everything so well. She taught me how to write an essay and how to tackle the MPT. I can't thank BarMax enough for helping me finally pass. It truly is a dream come true. Follow their program and you will pass the bar exam.

The Best Bar Prep Guide in the Market!I’m a foreign law educated and I used BarMax to take New York Bar Exam. It is very easy to use. A complete and comprehensive bar prep guide. As a parent with a full-time job, taking the bar exam 10 years after graduating law school is not easy.

But thanks to BarMax, its lectures, real MBE questions, and its notes I took the New York bar with confidence and passed it with flying colors. I highly recommend it, especially for foreign lawyers.

I come from Puerto Rico a civil law jurisdiction based on Spanish law and concepts. As a general rule we do not discuss common law principles in areas such as real property, contracts, family law, wills, etc.

As a general rule we do not discuss common law principles in areas such as real property, contracts, family law, wills, etc. I was completely new to those areas (also Trusts) and BarMax made it very easy for me to learn and understand all the legal concepts and to focus my practice in key essays and MBE’s to maximize my time and effort. The materials, questions, schedule and the office hours made all the difference. I scored over 290 in the UBE which allows me to practice law in any of the 42 jurisdictions!

Loved BarMax! I passed the New York Bar on my first attempt while working full-time all the way up to the bar, with just having the weekend off before the bar exam to fly to New York.BarMax definitely made that possible not only providing concise and user friendly materials, but also very helpful office hours.

I loved the fact that there was only one lecture book to refer to, which made the studying more manageable for me, especially given that I was only studying in the evenings and on the weekends, and I did not find it overwhelming like I did when I chose a competitor test prep company for the CA Bar exam that I sat a few years back.It's also definitely more affordable than other bar prep companies and that was another reason why I chose it when I decided that I wanted to get licensed in another state.I also liked using the app on my phone and listening to lectures as I was doing other things/running errands.I could not stress how much I recommend BarExam!

I sat for the bar exam for the 1st time in February 2022, after graduating from law school and working in another field since 2009. Back then, we really only had Barbri and Kaplan to choose from, so I was overwhelmed looking at test prep programs when I started thinking about sitting for the exam.
I sat for the bar exam for the 1st time in February 2022, after graduating from law school and working in another field since 2009. Back then, we really only had Barbri and Kaplan to choose from, so I was overwhelmed looking at test prep programs when I started thinking about sitting for the exam. Ultimately, I chose BarMax because they release all materials as soon as you purchase, only use NCBE-released MBE questions, include 10 graded essays, and their schedule/approach is more flexible for non-traditional bar takers. I studied for 5 months while working full-time, with young kids and a military husband that is often away. I also hired a tutor through BarMax to work on writing skills and more difficult MEE topics. I passed the UBE with plenty of room to spare, and didn't need to use any supplemental resources. I went through Barbri in 2009 before ultimately withdrawing from the exam, and this was a completely different experience. Although it was obviously stressful this time around, it was manageable and not nearly as miserable. In addition to only using "real" questions, I think it was also BarMax's focus on active open-book studying and reviewing past MEE essays that led me to be successful. I absolutely would recommend BarMax for the UBE!

Just what you need, great tips and no extra stuff. I recommend this course especially for someone who cannot devote all day everyday to studying because of other life responsibilities. I decided to take a bar for another state for career optionally and to take advantage of the remote COVID bar offering (finding a positive opportunity in the midst of the pandemic) to allow me to take a bar for a state across the country, and 20+ years after my last bar exam. I was also working full time at a big law job and could take no time off so was studying late at night and on weekends when I was not working. BarMax did not offer the particular state law course for my state but I used it for the MBE and MPRE portions as I wanted maximum studying efficiency for those portions and it worked! I don't practice in any area tested on the bar so had to relearn all of it. As soon as I signed up I got a call from them to discuss how to use the course, if I had questions, etc., which was great. I scored more than 30 points higher than I needed to pass. The materials are not so overwhelming as other courses and you can focus on just what you need to know with real test questions. And the office hour tips from Celeste and Jennifer and others are really useful and I highly recommend them. Like they say, you of course have to put your time in as well doing your work on your own study process with outlines, flash cards, whatever works for you, but the way they lay out the materials and the app and all the great study tips, including from past students, makes those easy to prepare. Thank you BarMax for helping me pass the TX bar exam! I had only used Barbri since I took and passed the IL bar the first time and passed. However 8 exams later (3 failed attempts in CA and 5 failed attempts in TX) I found myself at the point of no return as this was the last time I could take the TX bar exam. Im so glad that I switched to BarMax!

I am a mom of 4 out of law school 3 years. I failed the bar the first time using the Barbri Prep program. I was attracted to the simplicity of everything being in the App with Bar Max, and it was so easy to make time and prepare.

I would highly recommend BarMax to attorneys who are taking the attorney's exam. I had failed the bar multiple times with BarBri and needed a different platform to accommodate my busy schedule. I highly recommend BarMax, especially for individuals that are working full time. The program is incredibly flexible and the app makes the program portable so you can take it with you anywhere. I listened to the lectures and webinars on my commute and I did flashcards on my phone whenever I found myself with a few minutes of spare time.

I think the greatest advantage is also having real MBE questions (and a LOT of them). The MBE is no joke and I think it was beneficial to practice on real questions, and especially take practice tests with real questions. The webinars are very helpful as well, I wish I would have discovered how useful those were earlier in my studying! Thank you BarMax for recording those and posting them in the app so I could listen on my commute (working full time didn't allow me the flexibility to attend them live).And, as someone who works in the public service sector, the public interest scholarship was incredible.I was able to pass the UBE the first time, and I highly recommend BarMax to anyone looking for a thorough and flexible program!

I'm a married father and have been a practicing attorney for 6 years. I signed up on a whim, but was satisfied with the program. I read the outlines, went through the note cards a couple of times and worked about 75% of the questions. I reviewed a few MPTs and essays also. I passed for my target jurisdiction, which was my only goal. The program had a lot more to offer that I didn't use.

I used Barmax to take and pass the Feb 2021 California bar as a first-time examine. I had a 13 year gap between graduation and taking the exam, and literally did not remember 90% of law school. My law school was no help because it had closed down in 2019.

I was dealing with homeschooling my 2 kids during COVID, running a business that was severely impacted the shutdown, but still, the program got me ready to crush it!-They only use real MBE (Multistate Bar Exam) questions so I was familiar with the questions I faced on the actual exam.-Their essay roadmap provided a workable template for structuring a winning essay on the major issues which was critical in solving my time management challenge.-Being able to listen on the go, get instant feedback on exam questions, having a narrowly tailored outline to learn from, and seemingly endless essay answers from past exams at my fingertips allowed me to stay active in studying despite the busyness of my environment.If this program could help me pass when starting from scratch, it can work for you too. Studying for the bar is not fun. Folks who tell you it is are likely in possession of photographic memory and only have studying to do. But for folks who work full-time, have kids, a spouse, pets, and life, studying must be efficient and effective. BarMax offers a schedule, set goals, and easy to pace assignments. I suggest participating in the Office Hours live or at least on replay.

Complete program without overwhelming. I took 13 years off after law school before attempting the CA bar for the first time in Feb 2021. I decided to use the COVID shut down to take the exam, but had forgotten 90% of what I learned in school!
Complete program without overwhelming. I took 13 years off after law school before attempting the CA bar for the first time in Feb 2021. I decided to use the COVID shut down to take the exam, but had forgotten 90% of what I learned in school! Dealing with two young kids on 1/2 day zoom homeschool, and juggling a business that was severely impacted by the closures, I was still able to pass as a first time taker using ONLY THE MATERIALS IN THIS PROGRAM. I could listen to the online lectures on the go, explore the nuances of complex issues using the printed outline. I crafted effective and organized essays using their roadmaps, a brand new tool that gives you a essay template for major essay issues you can apply to slay a complex issue. By far the most helpful add on. Because Barmax uses only real bar questions, I was comfortable and familiar with what I faced on the MBE portion. IF I COULD PASS USING THIS COURSE, ANYONE COULD, I literally went into the program remembering nothing!! Follow their recommended study technique and enjoy the success it brings you. I only wish I had this program during law school. Good luck on your exam!

Good course for someone who is self-motivated and disciplined. The lectures and outlines cover just enough, in simple language, and the webinars with practical study tips tie everything together well.One room for improvement would be a tool to build a study schedule around other commitments (perhaps one that adjusts when you miss or move quicker through a lesson).

As I juggled studying and a full-time job as an attorney, I found myself worried that I was "wasting" my precious study time. The tools provided focused on the law student test-taker (able to study for 8+ hours per day every day) and were difficult to extrapolate to a study schedule relegated to evenings and weekends.

I’ve used BarMax to prepare for the bar exam and have nothing but good things to say about them. As a foreign lawyer working full time, passing the bar seemed to be an almost impossible task. BarMax gave me the flexibility and the tools to succeed. Special kudos to my tutor Celeste Boles!

I have been out of law school for 15 years and found myself moving to a state that didn't have reciprocity with the places I had practiced law before. Full time job, coordinating an out of state move, and caring for 3 children...I completed the class. I left the bar exam not knowing how I did but certain that I couldn't have been any better prepared.

I left the bar exam not knowing how I did but certain that I couldn't have been any better prepared. I was delighted to find out my score was more than 50 points above what I needed to pass. Amazing program that I thought was better than the much more expensive course I took back in 2005.

Passed the July 2018 NJ bar exam with a 149.1 MBE and a 289 UBE. As a working parent and husband, I walked out of the exam thinking "well, I was prepared for everything I saw." I wanted to thank you for your excellent product and team. I can't more highly recommend BarMax.

I graduated from law school back in 2009, but never took the bar exam because I entered academia right away. I was honestly petrified at the thought of trying to tackle the bar exam on my own, with no help and no review course, six years after graduation.

I work a full-time job now and couldn’t take the time off necessary to take a full BarBri review course.I downloaded the UBE full version and used it to study for the exam on my own for several weeks. AND I PASSED!! And I didn’t just pass; I passed with plenty of room to spare!I honestly never could have been successful without the help of BarMax and its amazing app. The lectures, the multiple choice questions, the exam questions, the feedback; everything helped so much. You guys and gals are absolutely amazing. I wasn't able to attend any kind of "traditional" bar course because I was taking care of my bafull-time.With BarMax, I stuck to your schedule (starting two weeks ahead to give me some wiggle-room at the end) listening to lectures when my child was taking her two one-hour naps during the day, and then working on practice essays and multiple choice when she went to bed at night. The material was really well organized and easy to fit into my schedule - and I felt prepared going into the exam. I just wanted to thank you for offering this alternative - for someone like me, without the luxury of full-time study like I did that first summer after graduating from law school - BarMax was perfect!
