I passed the February 2025 UBE with a 320!
I took the bar exam in Feb. 2025 as an attorney seeking admission in a new state. I passed the bar 20 years ago in my home state and this was my first time taking a test in 20 years. So to say I felt like I was starting over from scratch and was overwhelmed would be an understatement. Pros of BarMax: Very affordable.

So to say I felt like I was starting over from scratch and was overwhelmed would be an understatement. Pros of BarMax: Very affordable. You can start when you want; you are not beholden to a certain start date which is GREAT for non-traditional takers/people who need more time. They have a very helpful video library on various topics. Instructors are helpful and seem invested in seeing students pass. There is a MASSIVE database of prior NCBE-licensed questions to use for practice with analytics. Nearly all of the MBE questions have explanations which is helpful for learning. You get all the MEE questions going back a long, long way along with the model answers. Cons of BarMax: I think BarMax is best for motivated self-starters. It gives you all the tools and guidelines, but ultimately, it's up to you to leverage those tools. It's probably not the right prep course for people who need a lot of hand-holding and who aren't self-motivated. Also, I did end up supplementing the course with a few free and paid resources. But given the low cost of BarMax, you can easily afford to buy an extra set of outlines like LeanSheets as a supplement. (I also used Brainscape's flashcards.) Verdict: I passed the February 2025 UBE with a 320! We had a particularly difficult administration, with the mean national MBE score being historically low. I was extremely happy with my score (155 MBE/165 writing), very happy with my experience, and very happy with the course. I would recommend BarMax to returning attorney takers who need a course with no fluff, and to self-motivated examinees on a budget who want just what they need to pass and nothing more.

I just passed the July NY Bar by 1 point and have Barmax to thank for it.
I have been out of law school for 15 years and failed three times (only close once) and super glad I used Barmax and not Barbri again. Barmax has everything you really need to succeed for one price -- focused 2 and 3 month study schedules to follow, all the real MBE questions ever released, great short and focused archived online lectures and 10 free essay submissions.

The exam was tougher than I expected and I was slow as shit sometimes on the essays, but still felt well prepared. Thank god I got one more question right than wrong otherwise I'd be standing on a rooftop somewhere. Anyway, for those that failed, my advice is don't give up and find yourself a solid program like Barmax.

Took me quite a few tries but I finally passed my UBE with a score high enough to transfer into any state. Being a working single mom, quite a few years out of law school, I had many changes that needed to be made in my life before I was fully able to be prepared.

Having a Bar Prep program, for life, that I never had to worry about losing access to and that was flexible enough to change in accordance with my needs through the process. . . was EVERYTHING! My success in passing the New York Bar Exam is directly related to my use of TestMaxPrep.
I am a foreign trained lawyer, and was able to use TestMaxPrep to train for the New York Bar Exam. I got COVID my first time writing the exam so I had to delay my writing. TestMaxPrep allows you lifetime access, which means I did not have to re-pay for access to their training modules when I rescheduled. I went into the bar exam with a game plan.
I was struggling with the MPT portion of the UBE. I had one session with Jennifer Carr a little less than 2 weeks before the February 2024 bar exam and it was a game changer. She provided templates for the most common MPTs that could be seen on the bar, and she gave helpful tips on how to maximize the little time I had left before the test.

The day before the first session of the exam I reviewed my notes from that tutoring session. I went into the bar exam with a game plan. When the first MPT was memo style I was confident. I typed out my Jennifer Carr template like I practiced and filled the rest of MPT with the facts and law provided. I passed with a great score! I feel my score probably would have been even higher if I also worked with Jennifer or the essay portion of the UBE. 10 out of 10 would recommend Jennifer as a tutor!

BarMax is an excellent program for nontraditional law students and bar exam takers because the content is accessible via digital (phone, tablet, computer) and hard copy formats. The ease of use fit into my busy schedule. I bought this program during law school and was able to use the content during my 2L/3L years.

I didn't have to wait for the bar prep program to open in order to start preparing for the bar unlike other bar prep programs. I really appreciated the real MBE/MEE/MPT questions, the additional tutoring sessions, as well as the timely and excellent writing critiques. Bar prep is grueling and BarMax made it better.

I was a Bar-exam re-taker. I used Barmax, completed the course and passed.
All the support staff were extremely helpful. The live classes/office hours were not long boring lectures but taught me EXACTLY what I needed to know for each specific subject. I cannot express my gratitude for Barmax and their staff for helping me achieve this milestone. Would fully recommend the full UBE course for any one taking the exam.

It was my second time taking the UBE, I passed with a 303!
My tutor, Jenn Carr was excellent, she helped me to really develop my essay writing skills getting me to the next level. I gained valuable insight on what needed improvement. I highly recommend working with her.

I loved BarMax.
It has so many different resources all directly FROM bar exams which makes a huge difference in the studying process. The recorded office hours sessions are super helpful for very particular issues on the bar exam. The whole process of understanding (lectures), memorization (flash cards), and application (questions) is designed to have a lasting impact on the human brain.

The only thing I’d suggest is making the iphone app a little more user-friendly for studying on the go. Overall, I’m very happy with my experience using BarMax and my overall UBE score of 305!

There are a few sw glitches, but I've worked around them. I am enjoying the UBE questions and being able to reset them and start over. I also like the message board, because when I miss a question, i love seeing that several others thought the same thing, and then the Barmax tutor explains why we missed it. So helpful.

Barmax is helping reintroduce the law and updated concepts since having been out of law schoolf for more than 20 years. Eventhough I have been a practing attorney, I recently moved to another state that requires me to take the UBE Bar exam. This program has been extremely valuable in re-educating the concepts.

I cannot thank BarMax enough for getting a 317 at the UBE exam. The first time I signed up for the bar exam, I used Barbri and I was overwhelmed its tight study schedule, vast materials and different versions of outlines. I experienced severe anxiety and had to withdraw from the exam. This time I used BarMax and it is a completely different experience.

I was able to set my own schedule and the system is so flexible that it allows me to start 6 months before exam date and to study as much as I want everyday without sending me behind-schedule reminders. It kept my anxiety level low. The message board for the MBE questions, instructors' historical answers and real questions and official explanations from the NCBE are all very helpful and effective. The explanations from instructors are clear and so consistent that every time I read their explanation, it refreshed my memory of the rules and gave me confidence. It got me through the prep process and I actually felt ready for the exam. I am not sure I would have done it so well had I not chosen BarMax.

BarMax is all you need to pass the UBE. I decided to sit for the UBE after being out of the law profession for over 10 years. I received the BarMax material and quickly found out how little I remembered from law school, however the BarMax team outlined a schedule for studying that was perfect for me. I finally passed the Texas UBE exam on my 3rd try. I honestly never thought I would pass. I found BarMax through a family member who offered to pay for the program. When I started using the program all I could think was how easy it was and simple to follow. The program was easy to follow and no hours of home work after. It was simply, listen to the lecture and do some questions open book style.

Additionally, there are tons of videos on how to write an MPT and Essays and how to write an Essay on each topic. The videos with Celeste (an instructor for BarMax) explained everything so well. She taught me how to write an essay and how to tackle the MPT. I can't thank BarMax enough for helping me finally pass. It truly is a dream come true. Follow their program and you will pass the bar exam.

I took the UBE 5 years out of law school and after passing the bar in a non-UBE jurisdiction. I chose BarMax because of the no-frills, direct approach. It’s very important to use actual MBE questions to prep and BarMax uses only real MBE questions.

They also have prior MEE&MPT questions with the point sheets AND more importantly model answers from real examinees that show what is expected to PASS. In my opinion, the best part is Office Hours which taco tricky subjects in practical ways. I passed comfortably the first time around and can’t thank BarMax enough for being JUST what I needed, and nothing extra.

I wish I had started with Bar Max. I took the Bar in July and missed 4 points. I started with Bar Max as soon as I knew I had to retake the test. I watched the videos and followed the basic structure of their plan. The staff was wonderful and supportive. I just got my results and I passed with a score of 284!

That is almost a 30 point jump in score. I not only passed the bar for the state I was taking but also passed at a level I can be licensed in any state that accepts the UBE!. I come from Puerto Rico a civil law jurisdiction based on Spanish law and concepts. As a general rule we do not discuss common law principles in areas such as real property, contracts, family law, wills, etc.

As a general rule we do not discuss common law principles in areas such as real property, contracts, family law, wills, etc. I was completely new to those areas (also Trusts) and BarMax made it very easy for me to learn and understand all the legal concepts and to focus my practice in key essays and MBE’s to maximize my time and effort. The materials, questions, schedule and the office hours made all the difference. I scored over 290 in the UBE which allows me to practice law in any of the 42 jurisdictions!

I passed the New York Bar on my first attempt while working full-time all the way up to the bar, with just having the weekend off before the bar exam to fly to New York.BarMax definitely made that possible not only providing concise and user friendly materials, but also very helpful office hours.

I loved the fact that there was only one lecture book to refer to, which made the studying more manageable for me, especially given that I was only studying in the evenings and on the weekends, and I did not find it overwhelming like I did when I chose a competitor test prep company for the CA Bar exam that I sat a few years back.It's also definitely more affordable than other bar prep companies and that was another reason why I chose it when I decided that I wanted to get licensed in another state.I also liked using the app on my phone and listening to lectures as I was doing other things/running errands.I could not stress how much I recommend BarExam!

I used BarMax to pass the CA attorney exam 3 years ago. I decided to take the Oregon UBE, because I now live here. I just took the Feb 2022 exam, and had very little time to study.

If I do pass, it's solely because of BarMax. They prepared me to have a fighting chance! They are very comprehensive and that makes the difference. You need to have lectures, flash cards, outlines, and practice essays that are graded with sincere constructive criticism. You can find courses with a few programs that you need, but only BarMax, to my knowledge, has all you need to succeed. I am grateful to BarMax!!!! And, Arthur Miller's lecture on Civil Procedure--it's magical.

Using BarMax, I scored a 304 on the NY Bar Exam (UBE). This score is roughly in the 90th percentile, and well above the pass rate for all UBE jurisdictions. I thought the outlines were really efficient and easy to use. They did not include tons of superfluous information. All of my friends used competitors, and it sounded like they were studying 10-12 hours a day for 9 weeks.

It was also much less expensive than many other services.Two small points of feedback. 1) A few of the outlines for MEE-only subjects could have been edited down a lot. 2) BarMax should take more steps to familiarize test-takers with the basic structure of the test and introduce them to prep strategies with respect to MBE vs. MEE.

I highly recommend BarMax, especially for individuals that are working full time. The program is incredibly flexible and the app makes the program portable so you can take it with you anywhere. I listened to the lectures and webinars on my commute and I did flashcards on my phone whenever I found myself with a few minutes of spare time.

I think the greatest advantage is also having real MBE questions (and a LOT of them). The MBE is no joke and I think it was beneficial to practice on real questions, and especially take practice tests with real questions. The webinars are very helpful as well, I wish I would have discovered how useful those were earlier in my studying! Thank you BarMax for recording those and posting them in the app so I could listen on my commute (working full time didn't allow me the flexibility to attend them live).And, as someone who works in the public service sector, the public interest scholarship was incredible.I was able to pass the UBE the first time, and I highly recommend BarMax to anyone looking for a thorough and flexible program!

I passed the Washington DC bar exam! I definitely recommend BarMax to prepare for the bar! It provided real MBE test questions that mirrored the remote bar exam and past MEE questions including ideal answers that helped me understand what exam graders were looking for. I particularly thought their constructive feedback regarding my practice essays helped tremendously!

I had Jaime Papa as my tutor for the February 2021 UBE exam. He was extremely helpful. He walked me through how to properly answer essays and multiple choice questions. As a result of his help I went from failing in all UBE jurisdictions for the July exam to passing the February exam with an increase 59 points.

I purchased the private tutoring package with TestMax. Every week, Matías and I would meet to go over any areas that I had weaknesses, including essays. Matías taught me techniques that I used on the bar exam that allowed me to write effectively and efficiently.
