I passed with a 23-point jump.
I took the bar exam a total of 4 times and passed on my 4th try thanks to BarMax and especially my tutor, Emily Morgan. Each time I retook this exam, my confidence was crushed. I was in a position where I kept getting the same score for each attempt. I thought I could assess my weaknesses on my own but I truly needed someone to help me understand my thought process.

Passed the CA Bar Exam in July 2025.
I have been attempting to pass the CA Bar exam with many attempts and have been unsuccessful in the past, but I am persistent to keep trying, studying, and passing with BarMax.
I have been attempting to pass the CA Bar exam with many attempts and have been unsuccessful in the past, but I am persistent to keep trying, studying, and passing with BarMax. It requires time management and organization skills the most, I believe, and lots of practice, which is why I am trusting in the best feedback of professors and experienced legal professionals to help me finally pass and move forward. It is my final hurdle to moving forward and I plan to focus more and just do the work.

Excellent Platform for L1 and Bar Preparation.
I worked with tutor Jennifer Carr and she was wonderful. Very approachable and thorough in her explanations and made certain to hold me accountable for coming to sessions with work done and ready to be discussed with her. I was able to raise my final grades significantly from Midterm grades, and will continue to utilize Barmax for my law school journey and bar prep. Highly recommend.

I passed the New York bar on my first attempt whilst working full time (and planning a wedding!) and put this down to BarMax.
As a foreign qualified lawyer 10 years out of law school, I knew that I needed a flexible study programme to fit in during my limited free time - Bar Max offered exactly that. The course materials are concise and the videos are extremely helpful to guide you through past essay questions / how to approach the multiple choice portion of the exam.

VERY GRATEFUL TO BARMAX TO HELP ME SUCCEED
I am the unconventional student, but I NEVER gave up on myself despite ALL the obstacles and odds against me. I am VERY GRATEFUL to BarMax for helping me along my journey to becoming a licensed attorney. I have taken the Bar exam countless times really and I am honestly nervous as I await the November 8 results.

In a day and age where there are more questions than answers, I am grateful I can learn the law in a practical fashion and make the MOST of my time. I can’t thank BarMax enough! I enjoyed BarMax because it provided me with the flexibility I needed, provided targeted studying on highly tested areas, and provided access to many different resources such as office hours, actual NCBE MBE questions, and most beneficial to me, a tutor! I missed Feb 2024 20 points (needed a 270), decided to stick with BarMax, studied for July 2024, but with the additional help of a tutor. My tutor Nate, was the absolute best! He literally explained the information in a way that just made it make sense! He would always provide context and background information which would lay a foundation to the rules and why the rules made sense! He also helped build my confidence which impacted my performance. I scored a 287 on the North Carolina July 2024 bar and I can confidently say both BarMax and Nate were huge contributing factors in my success!I would recommend BarMax to anyone who has taken time off since studying or who needs the convenience or flexibility that BarMax provides. I scored a 286, when passing is a 266. As a full-time lawyer practising in India, I had serious doubts whether I would be able to pass the bar exam. I was looking for a bar prep course that attacked the exam as opposed to a course that exhaustively covered the subjects tested on the exam. I went into the bar exam with a game plan.
I was struggling with the MPT portion of the UBE. I had one session with Jennifer Carr a little less than 2 weeks before the February 2024 bar exam and it was a game changer. She provided templates for the most common MPTs that could be seen on the bar, and she gave helpful tips on how to maximize the little time I had left before the test.

The day before the first session of the exam I reviewed my notes from that tutoring session. I went into the bar exam with a game plan. When the first MPT was memo style I was confident. I typed out my Jennifer Carr template like I practiced and filled the rest of MPT with the facts and law provided. I passed with a great score! I feel my score probably would have been even higher if I also worked with Jennifer or the essay portion of the UBE. 10 out of 10 would recommend Jennifer as a tutor!

Tutoring with Whitney Shirley changed my life!!!

I passed my UBE first time with a score high enough to practice in any UBE jurisdiction.
BarMax is an excellent program for nontraditional law students and bar exam takers because the content is accessible via digital (phone, tablet, computer) and hard copy formats. The ease of use fit into my busy schedule. I bought this program during law school and was able to use the content during my 2L/3L years.

I didn't have to wait for the bar prep program to open in order to start preparing for the bar unlike other bar prep programs. I really appreciated the real MBE/MEE/MPT questions, the additional tutoring sessions, as well as the timely and excellent writing critiques. Bar prep is grueling and BarMax made it better.

I PASSED THE BAR!!!
BarMax simplified the approach needed to get over the hump. I had taken the California Bar Exam twice before I found BarMax. I was failing the bar my more than 100 points. I took the BarMax course for my third bar attempt and scored a 1377. I was so mad! But I only needed to improve less than 1%.

So I buckled down for the fourth round and added Melissa, my BarMax tutor. Melissa worked with me to improve my issue spotting, IRAC writing, and PT outlining. I took the bar in July 2023 and during the examination, I knew I passed. I was so confident in my issue spotting, essay writing, timing, PT performance, and MBEs, all thanks to the preparation provided Melissa and the BarMax program. Thank you! Thank you! It was my second time taking the UBE, I passed with a 303!
My tutor, Jenn Carr was excellent, she helped me to really develop my essay writing skills getting me to the next level. I gained valuable insight on what needed improvement. I highly recommend working with her.

After being out of law school for 27 years and many years removed from law practice, I passed the Texas bar exam on the first attempt. BarMax bar exam prep is comprehensive but focuses on what you actually need to know to pass the bar, and the price is great! The office hours, graded essays and performance tests were invaluable. I could not be more pleased. I highly recommend BarMax.

There are a few sw glitches, but I've worked around them. I am enjoying the UBE questions and being able to reset them and start over. I also like the message board, because when I miss a question, i love seeing that several others thought the same thing, and then the Barmax tutor explains why we missed it. So helpful.

From Day 1 she had a very specific formula and guideline for building skills that yielded a number of tangible improvements in my practice scores within only a handful of sessions.

I used Barbri previously and I found working one-on-one much more effective at getting a firm grasp of test strategy rather than attempting to blunt force attack the material through mass memorization. I highly recommend to anyone looking for much more clarity on how they're progress toward a a passing score as Testmax carried far more tools for self-evaluation than other services.

If you need a tutor, you need Melissa Allsteadt. If failed the July 2022 Cal Bar and passed the Feb 2023 Cal Bar. I do give thanks to Jesus Christ for giving me the knowledge to pass the bar. And one of the biggest tools that he gave me was Barmax but specifically Melissa. Melissa is straight forward and show told me everything that was wrong with my prior preparation and corrected my mistakes.

BarMax is an amazing bar prep course. The lectures, subject matter outlines, MBE practice questions, and office hour videos that review specific subject areas on the MBE and MEE are all excellent. I have to say though that the most critical element in my bar prep study was the one on one personalized tutoring! I had the privilege of working with Matias Gonzalez as my tutor.

Matias helped hone my writing to be more concise and clear, he helped me develop specific formatting and approaches for essays, he helped me develop precise rule statements and showed me the best ways to memorize rules, and most importantly he helped me in the application of the rules to the facts, all of which drastically improved my performance on the MEE. In addition, we reviewed numerous MBE questions together every study session and Matias helped me to focus on knowing the answer to each question before looking at the answer choices, this strategy helped me to know the specific rules and how they were being tested on the MBE. After each tutoring session I felt more empowered and confident in my abilities and better prepared for the exam. Matias is very personable and his infectious enthusiasm and encouragement helped me to learn and develop the skills I needed to pass the bar. I'm a foreigner (Australia) and I researched for a while before selecting Bar Max. I'm a few weeks in I am so happy I did. All the resources and tools are great! The office hour sessions explain each style of examination plus how you should actively study instead of passively study (which I had been doing previously!).

The office hour sessions explain each style of examination plus how you should actively study instead of passively study (which I had been doing previously!). I see there are targeted office hours which will be great if I'm stuck on an issue. I've also changed my study plan based on the timetable and now I feel confident I'll be ready July! The flash cards are great to do after listening to a lecture and before attempting an MBE as they further help to clarify understanding. Then of course they'll be great for the memorization phase. I've also started on the MBE questions at the end of each sub section and found the open book method to be a really effective way to learn at this early stage of studying. I found if I follow the suggested approach of answering each question as correct or incorrect (accompanied my reasoning) before checking the answer then I'm likely to answer the question correctly. Further, checking my explanations against the explanation provided for each correct/incorrect response on the answer screen is helpful. I like the idea of linking the old message board conversations to each MBE question to. Re MEE - I love that you're able to submit 10 essays. I plan to submit my first essay in the coming days so I can receive feedback early on to ensure I don't waste time practicing doing essays the wrong way. Last, the flexibility this program provides is fabulous. I've listened to videos while driving or stuck in traffic and I expect to use the flash cards in the memorization phase later on while on the go - like on the treadmill!

As the famous saying states "it takes a village" and BarMax provided me that village that led to me passing the UBE comfortably. I scheduled tutoring sessions with Emily who helped improve my weakest area, essays. With Emily's help, I scored in the 98th percentile for the essay portion of the UBE.
