I just passed the July NY Bar by 1 point and have Barmax to thank for it.
I have been out of law school for 15 years and failed three times (only close once) and super glad I used Barmax and not Barbri again. Barmax has everything you really need to succeed for one price -- focused 2 and 3 month study schedules to follow, all the real MBE questions ever released, great short and focused archived online lectures and 10 free essay submissions.

The exam was tougher than I expected and I was slow as shit sometimes on the essays, but still felt well prepared. Thank god I got one more question right than wrong otherwise I'd be standing on a rooftop somewhere. Anyway, for those that failed, my advice is don't give up and find yourself a solid program like Barmax.

After wasting my money and time on “Themis” twice, a friend introduced me to barmax, and that was the best decision ever. I would advise everyone to read their outlines very well if you want to pass. The good news is that the outlines are straight to the point and very easy to comprehend. BarMax cares for their students.

Used the BarMax MPRE course as part of my efforts to take the bar for the first time almost twenty years after law school, and scored a 146! I tried other courses along the way, and much preferred BarMax's use of exclusively real prior MPRE questions. I'm now using them to prepare for the July bar exam as well, and am feeling great about my preparation so far. Highly recommend!

I went from getting a 250 as my best score with the competitor prep course to a 288 with BarMax.
After failing the Idaho Bar Exam twice using another barprep course provider, I did some research into what other prep course would be a better alternative. Reading through several reviews, I found BarMax to be in the top 5 in almost every review I read.

Reading through several reviews, I found BarMax to be in the top 5 in almost every review I read. I had not heard of BarMax during law school but figured at that point trying a different prep course could at least help give me a different perspective on bar study. I found BarMax prep to be more efficient at breaking down tough legal concepts in an understandable fashion. BarMax lecturers were clearly experts in their field of law and in my opinion did a much better job explaining legal concepts.I also found the actual UBE questions from the past much more useful for study than made up questions the other prep course had made themselves. The discussion boards and zoom sessions were also helpful for breaking down concepts and seeing questions other studiers were having that I may not have thought of. I went from getting a 250 as my best score with the competitor prep course to a 288 with BarMax, which is a high enough score to practice in any UBE state. I am thankful for the modern and practical approach BarMax uses for bar prep.

I loved being able to listen to lectures while at the gym rather than watching videos, and the outline felt streamlined enough to be easily memorized. I appreciated that they used only former bar exam questions for multiple choice and essays. I felt prepared coming into the exam, and I ended up passing on the first try!

I worked with Prof. Lavanya Sabin. She was patient, kind, and very methodical in her approach to building an exam strategy. From Day 1 she had a very specific formula and guideline for building skills that yielded a number of tangible improvements in my practice scores within only a handful of sessions.

I used Barbri previously and I found working one-on-one much more effective at getting a firm grasp of test strategy rather than attempting to blunt force attack the material through mass memorization. I highly recommend to anyone looking for much more clarity on how they're progress toward a a passing score as Testmax carried far more tools for self-evaluation than other services.

I cannot thank BarMax enough for getting a 317 at the UBE exam. The first time I signed up for the bar exam, I used Barbri and I was overwhelmed its tight study schedule, vast materials and different versions of outlines. I experienced severe anxiety and had to withdraw from the exam. This time I used BarMax and it is a completely different experience.

I was able to set my own schedule and the system is so flexible that it allows me to start 6 months before exam date and to study as much as I want everyday without sending me behind-schedule reminders. It kept my anxiety level low. The message board for the MBE questions, instructors' historical answers and real questions and official explanations from the NCBE are all very helpful and effective. The explanations from instructors are clear and so consistent that every time I read their explanation, it refreshed my memory of the rules and gave me confidence. It got me through the prep process and I actually felt ready for the exam. I am not sure I would have done it so well had I not chosen BarMax.

I think that there are some things that are a little inconsistent, such as some questions do not have explanations for why they are right or wrong while the vast majority of them do have that explanation, and some of the subjects have flash cards and some few subjects don't. There are also some spelling errors that really bug me, but that's just a thing for me.

The flashcards are very helpful, the outlines are great, and the fact that the multiple choice questions are actual MBE questions is a huge plus. The essay portion, they decades worth of bar essays that come with the grading rubric and model answers.All in all, I like it a lot better than my pilot run with Themis, though it could use more work, they have updated it to be more user friendly and I'm enjoying it.

I took the California Bar Exam multiple times. BarMax allowed me to have another chance without paying for the program again. My first time, I used BarMax. The second time, I tried Barbri and got overwhelmed with all the materials. I went back to my BarMax materials, utilized all the tools available, and passed. My favorite tool with BarMax was the MBE practice.

Being able to see the scores broken down into sections within the subjects allowed me to see my problem areas and focus on those issues. I took the MPRE four times with various programs until using TestMax (BarMax) and passing with the help of my tutor Jennifer Carr. She helped tailor my studying to my study style, instead of using a "one size fits all" approach like Barbri or Kaplan. I enjoyed our sessions, she kept is very positive which is exactly what someone needs when they are going through these stressful experiences.

I think the material is good because it’s not too much information, I think people get upset because there’s information sometimes missing in the outlines that gets tested on, however, I do think the fact there is actually less information then other courses is better because you get the most important stuff down. I used Barbri twice and did not pass. I passed with BarMax.

Barmax helped me pass the February 2022 California Bar Exam. I had previously taken the exam four times using Kaplan and Adapitbar as bar resources. Barmax synthesized the required information into a manageable size which allowed me to study efficiently.

The tech at times felt clunky, and some of the lectures need to be rerecorded to adjust to changing law, but overall I think this course is a great value, and obviously many thanks for helping me pass. I was excited to start BarMax because it promoted a more cindensed approach to bar prep. Throughout the process there were times that I was skeptical of BarMax’s advice regarding study techniques, and study material. However, I decided to trust their advice even if it did not seem ideal at times. I had failed the California bar twice with BARBRI, and decided to take the UBE with BarMax.

I can happily say that I passed the UBE with a 275! BarMax takes an unconventional approach because rather than giving you a large quantity of detailed study materials, it sticks to the most important and common topics. At first I thought that I was missing a significant amount of crucial information, however I later found BarMax’s approach to be incredibly helpful.

I sat for the bar exam for the 1st time in February 2022, after graduating from law school and working in another field since 2009. Back then, we really only had Barbri and Kaplan to choose from, so I was overwhelmed looking at test prep programs when I started thinking about sitting for the exam.

Back then, we really only had Barbri and Kaplan to choose from, so I was overwhelmed looking at test prep programs when I started thinking about sitting for the exam. Ultimately, I chose BarMax because they release all materials as soon as you purchase, only use NCBE-released MBE questions, include 10 graded essays, and their schedule/approach is more flexible for non-traditional bar takers. I studied for 5 months while working full-time, with young kids and a military husband that is often away. I also hired a tutor through BarMax to work on writing skills and more difficult MEE topics. I passed the UBE with plenty of room to spare, and didn't need to use any supplemental resources. I went through Barbri in 2009 before ultimately withdrawing from the exam, and this was a completely different experience. Although it was obviously stressful this time around, it was manageable and not nearly as miserable. In addition to only using "real" questions, I think it was also BarMax's focus on active open-book studying and reviewing past MEE essays that led me to be successful. I absolutely would recommend BarMax for the UBE!

The first time I took the bar exam I failed because I used Kaplan and it was not effective in helping me achieve a passing score. I never do well with cookie cutter approaches in study. As soon as I switched to Barmax, the difference was night and day. I felt a lot more prepared and achieved a passing result in Illinois! I am so glad I chose barmax the second time around!

I dont think I would have passed if I went with another program! Bar max uses real NCBEX questions and teaches you just enough to pass. The content is fabulous!! And, Arthur Miller's lecture on Civil Procedure--it's magical.

After teaching corporate and securities law for decades, I moved to a US jurisdiction that did not accept waiver from another US state. Because I wanted to return to practice, I had to take the bar exam.
After teaching corporate and securities law for decades, I moved to a US jurisdiction that did not accept waiver from another US state. Because I wanted to return to practice, I had to take the bar exam. I selected BarMax as my review course to re-learn the large areas of the law I had forgotten and understand what the examiners expected of me in 2022.CONTENT offered Bar Max was 1) about 1,500 MBE multiple choice questions with answers operating in both mobile apps and on desktop; 2) about 25 years of MEE questions with model answers and/or point sheets used assessors, and 3) the same amount of Performance Tests. Of course, BarMax also had excellent course-length lectures on every subject tested, accompanied comprehensive outlines and a full set of flash cards for each lecture. One comes away from the course with a gratifyingly comprehensive view of nearly all basic US common law, UCC Arts 2 and 9, as well as constitutional law and civil procedure. ADVICE was offered in real time through a comment section attached to every MBE question, through an essay markup function which assessors got back comments on my essays next day, through an automatic analytics dashboard that let me know my performance metrics as I worked through hundreds of MBE questions and flash cards, and through live "office hours" held friendly and encouraging, highly skilled exam-taker tutors.ATTITUDE was great, and very important for me. One cannot say that all the MBE questions are reasonable or that every MEE question is realistic. I know leading law professors who have never taken a bar exam and partners in global law firms who hold bar exams in contempt. That is not the way for an examinee to approach a 12-hour, make-or-break test. The tutors at BarMax consistently led users of the service back to the type of logic sought the examination, away from skepticism, and toward a single goal - to perform well on the examination. I found it important that the tutors had all obviously been top law students and were masters of bar examinations - they were friendly, humble, meticulous and embedded deeply within the logic of the examination and the attitude necessary to perform well. Given that much of my work as a law professor had been focused on political economic questions - studying motivations behind the law - BarMax was extremely useful, if not indispensable, to turn my focus back to the kind of just-answer-the-question analytical thinking necessary to perform well on this one, crucial test.CAVEAT: After you pass the bar examination, unchain your skepticism and continue to probe the law with a common sense inquiry focused on justice, not performance - perhaps even work to change / improve the bar examination format. But as long as the examination exists in its current form and you must pass it to enter the profession, listen to the tutors at BarMax.

Just what you need, great tips and no extra stuff. I recommend this course especially for someone who cannot devote all day everyday to studying because of other life responsibilities. I decided to take a bar for another state for career optionally and to take advantage of the remote COVID bar offering (finding a positive opportunity in the midst of the pandemic) to allow me to take a bar for a state across the country, and 20+ years after my last bar exam. I was also working full time at a big law job and could take no time off so was studying late at night and on weekends when I was not working. BarMax did not offer the particular state law course for my state but I used it for the MBE and MPRE portions as I wanted maximum studying efficiency for those portions and it worked! I don't practice in any area tested on the bar so had to relearn all of it. As soon as I signed up I got a call from them to discuss how to use the course, if I had questions, etc., which was great. I scored more than 30 points higher than I needed to pass. The materials are not so overwhelming as other courses and you can focus on just what you need to know with real test questions. And the office hour tips from Celeste and Jennifer and others are really useful and I highly recommend them. Like they say, you of course have to put your time in as well doing your work on your own study process with outlines, flash cards, whatever works for you, but the way they lay out the materials and the app and all the great study tips, including from past students, makes those easy to prepare. Good luck to those studying! You can do it!

I PASSED THE NEW YORK BAR EXAM THE FIRST TIME AS A FOREIGN LAW STUDENT!! I am from England, and I have an LLM degree from a North Carolina law school. While I was there I heard a lot about various providers (a lot of advertising from Barbri and Kaplan).
I PASSED THE NEW YORK BAR EXAM THE FIRST TIME AS A FOREIGN LAW STUDENT!! I am from England, and I have an LLM degree from a North Carolina law school. While I was there I heard a lot about various providers (a lot of advertising from Barbri and Kaplan). I decided to postpone taking the bar exam for a few years due to other commitments, and when I finally decided I was ready to take it, I did not know which provider to go for. I found out that a girl from my UK University had passed the California bar exam and so I asked her which provider she studied with. She told me BarMax! I had never heard of them before, but she had nothing but good things to say! I decided to look into them and realised they were the perfect course for me! Not only were they one of the cheapest providers for foreign students, but unlike the other providers, their materials are accessible forever (this actually worked out in my favour when COVID-19 broke out and the bar exam had to limit their pool of eligible applicants, meaning I had to wait another year to sit the exam than I had originally planned)! BarMax's materials were extremely comprenhensive. From taking a 2-3 year gap between law school and the bar, I had forgotten a lot of things, and from being foreigner a lot of the subjects were subjects I had never taken a class in, in neither the US or the UK (etc secured transactions), but Barmax explained things in a very simple way and made it easy to understand! When I did have questions, I always used the chat feature and would get very clear responses! The tutors really do care about our success and want to help us as much as they can! I also found the access to past questions extremely useful (I'd recommend using these as much as possible), along with the essay/MPT feedback (although I didn't submit as many practice questions as I probably should have!!)! Furthermore, the study calendar which I used closer to the exam really helped keep me on track! I fully recommend BarMax to anyone thinking about taking the bar exam!!

I have also used Barbri for a previous exam which I passed, but I prefer TestMax as I feel they were able to better organize the information that you need going into the bar. I would recommend this program which I used before passing the Ohio Bar!

The question sets after each lecture are on point and drive home the rules of law that are actually tested.BarMax helped me gain 20 points on the MBE alone. The question sets allow you to pinpoint where you have a gap in knowledge.

However 8 exams later (3 failed attempts in CA and 5 failed attempts in TX) I found myself at the point of no return as this was the last time I could take the TX bar exam. Im so glad that I switched to BarMax!

I would highly recommend BarMax to attorneys who are taking the attorney's exam. I had failed the bar multiple times with BarBri and needed a different platform to accommodate my busy schedule. I had to juggle the bar studies with the management of two law offices in different jurisdictions, two kids, including a three year old and a busy case load.

Very good economical option for bar prep. I like that "model" answers for essay questions were based on top student submissions, rather than comprehensive professionally written answers you see in other prep courses. I also liked that they only used official questions in the multiple choice section.

Only qualms were that the website is not the most intuitive/user-friendly (pro tip: look at filters!) and there was no ability to be tested on certain sub-topics within each MBE subject (unlike on Adaptibar).

I signed up for BarMax for its MBE program at the recommendation of a friend after multiple unsuccessful attempts at the California Bar Exam.BarMax has not disappointed me. Compared to the MBE program of other review courses, the biggest distinguishing factor is that they force students to figure out why a correct answer is correct.

This feature may appear frustrating in the beginning but it proved to be critical to my success at my most recent try at the California Bar Exam. asking questions to challenge the correct answers given, students gain a deeper understanding of the law.I also like the interfaces of the MBE program, which allows students to quickly jump to any particular question.I highly recommend the MBE program of BarMax.

I used BarMax to study for the bar exam with success. I had previously used Barbri without success. I appreciate that BarMax uses real MBE questions as well as concise explanations of the answers. I would recommend BarMax.

As a nontraditional re-taker, years removed from law school, I needed a program that would work with my extremely busy schedule and demanding corporate job. I originally used Barbri and Kaplan as most law school graduates do. I found that those programs took the kitchen sink approach which was neither beneficial nor efficient. The BarMax difference was astounding.

The BarMax difference was astounding. I was able to study wherever I was, with synthesized, targeted information and had confidence because I was studying with actual questions. The one thing I’d recommend is adding a table of contents to the outline book to make it easier to revisit subject outlines when reviewing questions.The biggest benefit was the addition of a tutor. When I considered a tutor, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but wanted to maximize the limited study time I had. Matías Gonzalez really helped me to hone in on my weaknesses, talk through the issues and get regular feedback. My improvement from the first session to the last surpassed my expectations. If Matías didn’t have the answer, he found out and we addressed it in the next session. When he realized that I was anxious about the remote environment, he obtained additional information for me. He is very invested. I have to say that his dedication to his students is really impressive and made all the difference.

A coworker who had passed the bar a few years prior recommended the Barmax question bank. I purchased such and went through almost every single one of those questions. I must say that the use of former bar questions FAR surpassed the “allegedly” similar questions from Kaplan or Themis in terms of preparation.

I must say that the use of former bar questions FAR surpassed the “allegedly” similar questions from Kaplan or Themis in terms of preparation. (REAL QUESTIONS >>>> those bogus questions that the Kaplan and Themis tutors write) When I was taking the actual MBE portion of the bar, it felt like routine because I was so accustomed to the question formats, calls, and answer choices. It worked to a T. As a customer, I wish to commend the fact that the company uses actual MBE questions for that exact reason.Second, I’ve seen the Youtube ads and chuckle because the other huge benefit that I appreciated was the versatility. I downloaded the app and was able to answer practice MBE questions from the question bank on my phone allowing me to study literally anywhere ranging from the side of the pool, to the porcelain throne, to the DMV waiting area, etc.I passed my bar exam this time around with flying colors including a WAY higher MBE score. I intend to recommend Barmax to every one of my friends/colleagues/law students who either failed this time around or have yet to take their Bar exam. Thank you. Barmax proved to be absolutely worth it.Last thing: the T-Shirt they sent with the practice book and question bank is a great workout shirt but I want another one. Where can I buy another one?
