Passed the CA Bar Exam in July 2025.
I have been attempting to pass the CA Bar exam with many attempts and have been unsuccessful in the past, but I am persistent to keep trying, studying, and passing with BarMax.
I have been attempting to pass the CA Bar exam with many attempts and have been unsuccessful in the past, but I am persistent to keep trying, studying, and passing with BarMax. It requires time management and organization skills the most, I believe, and lots of practice, which is why I am trusting in the best feedback of professors and experienced legal professionals to help me finally pass and move forward. It is my final hurdle to moving forward and I plan to focus more and just do the work.

I just passed the July NY Bar by 1 point and have Barmax to thank for it.
I have been out of law school for 15 years and failed three times (only close once) and super glad I used Barmax and not Barbri again. Barmax has everything you really need to succeed for one price -- focused 2 and 3 month study schedules to follow, all the real MBE questions ever released, great short and focused archived online lectures and 10 free essay submissions.

The exam was tougher than I expected and I was slow as shit sometimes on the essays, but still felt well prepared. Thank god I got one more question right than wrong otherwise I'd be standing on a rooftop somewhere. Anyway, for those that failed, my advice is don't give up and find yourself a solid program like Barmax.

I would recommend BarMax to anyone who has taken time off since studying or who needs convenience or flexibility.
I can’t thank BarMax enough! I am a repeat taker after multiple tries and purchased Barmax to assist with my studying for the February and July 2024 exams after taking 4 years away from studying or sitting for an exam. I work a full time job, run a business and have a 3 year old, which impacted how and when I could study!

I enjoyed BarMax because it provided me with the flexibility I needed, provided targeted studying on highly tested areas, and provided access to many different resources such as office hours, actual NCBE MBE questions, and most beneficial to me, a tutor! I missed Feb 2024 20 points (needed a 270), decided to stick with BarMax, studied for July 2024, but with the additional help of a tutor. My tutor Nate, was the absolute best! He literally explained the information in a way that just made it make sense! He would always provide context and background information which would lay a foundation to the rules and why the rules made sense! He also helped build my confidence which impacted my performance. I scored a 287 on the North Carolina July 2024 bar and I can confidently say both BarMax and Nate were huge contributing factors in my success!I would recommend BarMax to anyone who has taken time off since studying or who needs the convenience or flexibility that BarMax provides. I am scoring higher using Barmax than I have using any other big box bar prep
I like that each subject is parsed out into subtopics. I can focus on doing the lectures, then review the outline, and test on the exact NCBE questions. Repeat taker - I am scoring higher using Barmax than I have using any other big box bar prep, or even self study.

Enjoying my Bar Preparation very much.
I was upset I did not pass my first time. I decided to go all out and give myself a chance to succeed. I really want this and I still have to write my essays but so far I am enjoying the lectures and multiple choice questions so far! I enjoy studying from my phone and really happy Mehran created an affordable program for people who want to pass.

I used the Open Book Method of Study and it worked.
TestMax suggested that I use the open book studying method because I was a repeat taker. I used the Open Book Method of Study and it worked. In the first month, when I started using the Open Book Method it took me about 15 to 30 minutes to find the answer to each question. In the second month it took me about 10 to 15 minutes to answer each question.

My MBE scores were between 75% to 92%. I have been out of law school for 31 years, so the Open Book Method worked for me. I passed the DC bar and it was the first time I took it. I scored high enough to qualify to be licensed in 20 states.

Thank you for being available to repeat takers until we succeed and beyond! I love that you have official ncbe questions. I do wish here was a function that would allow us to set up practice tests on our own (i.e choose how many questions, what topics, etc)

I went from getting a 250 as my best score with the competitor prep course to a 288 with BarMax.
After failing the Idaho Bar Exam twice using another barprep course provider, I did some research into what other prep course would be a better alternative. Reading through several reviews, I found BarMax to be in the top 5 in almost every review I read.

I had not heard of BarMax during law school but figured at that point trying a different prep course could at least help give me a different perspective on bar study. I found BarMax prep to be more efficient at breaking down tough legal concepts in an understandable fashion. BarMax lecturers were clearly experts in their field of law and in my opinion did a much better job explaining legal concepts.I also found the actual UBE questions from the past much more useful for study than made up questions the other prep course had made themselves. The discussion boards and zoom sessions were also helpful for breaking down concepts and seeing questions other studiers were having that I may not have thought of. I went from getting a 250 as my best score with the competitor prep course to a 288 with BarMax, which is a high enough score to practice in any UBE state. I am thankful for the modern and practical approach BarMax uses for bar prep.

If you need a tutor, you need Melissa Allsteadt. If failed the July 2022 Cal Bar and passed the Feb 2023 Cal Bar. I do give thanks to Jesus Christ for giving me the knowledge to pass the bar. And one of the biggest tools that he gave me was Barmax but specifically Melissa. Melissa is straight forward and show told me everything that was wrong with my prior preparation and corrected my mistakes.

I loved how easy the apps and website were to use.I also used LSAT max, and referred one of my best friends and sister to it. She’s attending a t50 on a (near) full ride, and starts this coming fall.

Putting me at 60%, which will land you right about at the pass line which is exactly where I tested. I focused on my stronger subjects then did limited prep on the ones that gave me trouble. I figured i could maximize points in key areas.I took the bar with no sleep the day of, landing an hour and thirty from the test site. I arrived 30 minutes before, didn’t sleep that night, and still managed a 130.6 on the MBE and 136.9 on the MEE/MPT.I’ll probably retake and shoot for 270, but I passed for where I was testing w/268. So, honestly I’m pretty satisfied. Reciprocity is a thing so I’m not too worried about my score. And I can also work in fed courts.My overall experience has convinced me it’s not about where you go, it’s about what materials you use. These materials haven’t failed me once.My friends who didn’t pass felt like the competitors didn’t expose them to good enough questions. They used my materials in a few study sessions with me and felt like they slapped. They’ve now ordered. Im not getting any referral fees, I didn’t ask. I just want everyone to know how great I think this sh** is.13/10, good materials.

I bought this on my last year of Law school. But the website layout was unimpressive and was difficult to navigate- things I need to see in plain view are hidden. So, I didn't use BarMax and paid 2 separate products- one for MBEs, and another one for Essays/PT. I did not pass the first try. But now, I decided to give BarMax another try.

I realized that BarMax lecture presentations were superior to the other products, and my essay writing has significantly improved with BarMax essay instructions. I feel confident that I have a better understanding of the substantial laws, and feel confident and "at ease" with the essay writing.

I am a Washington Law Clerk so I did not go to Law School. I worked full time and have six children, two of whom have autism and three who have ADD. When I’m home they need me.

I had to attend several IEP and accommodation meetings for school for all of them, I worked full time, was a Rule 9 appearing in court, and the first night of the bar exam, my one year old got a small fever, and I was up with her all night, and the 2nd night of the test, we had to take her to the ER and I was up again all night with her (it was not serious or contagious thankfully), but she had a fever and needed rest and cuddles. I got about 3 hours of sleep both nights, and I was distracted worrying for my daughter. I was distracted during the test, but I had five hours with a Barmax Tutor, I submitted about 7 practice essays/MPTs, and I had only had about 90 intensive hours to prep for the bar (out of a recommended 400/600 hours). Barmax was on point and it helped me get the materials I needed. I ended up with a 290 which isn’t bad given all the challenges I experienced personally. I think if I had had more study time and a little less adversity on exam days, I might have done much better, but a pass is a pass, and I’m so very happy. I had several contemporaries that used a very famous Barprep company who did the 400 hours and they were overwhelmed and did not pass. I paid a fraction of the price, and passed on my first try, and was less stressed going into the exam. I explained to my tutor at Barmax what my study schedule was, and she was honest, she didn’t think I needed to do 400 hours, but thought I wasn’t going to get enough, but when I said that all I had was about 90 hours. Once she knew I couldn’t squeeze in any more studying she fully committed to my situation and helped me focus in and target the things I needed. I appreciated her honesty and her designing a plan that was perfect for me, and she supported me with what my specific needs and process were. Thank you Barmax!!!! And Thank you Melissa A (my tutor).

I think the material is good because it’s not too much information, I think people get upset because there’s information sometimes missing in the outlines that gets tested on, however, I do think the fact there is actually less information then other courses is better because you get the most important stuff down. I used Barbri twice and did not pass. I passed with BarMax.

I was excited to start BarMax because it promoted a more cindensed approach to bar prep. Throughout the process there were times that I was skeptical of BarMax’s advice regarding study techniques, and study material. However, I decided to trust their advice even if it did not seem ideal at times. I had failed the California bar twice with BARBRI, and decided to take the UBE with BarMax.

I can happily say that I passed the UBE with a 275! BarMax takes an unconventional approach because rather than giving you a large quantity of detailed study materials, it sticks to the most important and common topics. At first I thought that I was missing a significant amount of crucial information, however I later found BarMax’s approach to be incredibly helpful.

The first time I took the bar exam I failed because I used Kaplan and it was not effective in helping me achieve a passing score. I never do well with cookie cutter approaches in study. As soon as I switched to Barmax, the difference was night and day. I felt a lot more prepared and achieved a passing result in Illinois! I am so glad I chose barmax the second time around!

I dont think I would have passed if I went with another program! Bar max uses real NCBEX questions and teaches you just enough to pass. The content is fabulous!! However 8 exams later (3 failed attempts in CA and 5 failed attempts in TX) I found myself at the point of no return as this was the last time I could take the TX bar exam. Im so glad that I switched to BarMax!

I would highly recommend BarMax to attorneys who are taking the attorney's exam. I had failed the bar multiple times with BarBri and needed a different platform to accommodate my busy schedule. I took advantage of the set schedule, the MEE feedback, the actual past MBE questions (this was a bonus), and the tutoring as a quick review before exam day.When exam day came in February, I knew I was prepared to do my best, and my best was to pass the bar. When May came, I found I passed the DC Bar. I am genuinely grateful to BarMax, my rep Carl, the staff, and the tutors for giving me the tools I needed to succeed. BarMax is truly the #1 bar prep.

I signed up for BarMax for its MBE program at the recommendation of a friend after multiple unsuccessful attempts at the California Bar Exam.BarMax has not disappointed me. Compared to the MBE program of other review courses, the biggest distinguishing factor is that they force students to figure out why a correct answer is correct.

This feature may appear frustrating in the beginning but it proved to be critical to my success at my most recent try at the California Bar Exam. asking questions to challenge the correct answers given, students gain a deeper understanding of the law.I also like the interfaces of the MBE program, which allows students to quickly jump to any particular question.I highly recommend the MBE program of BarMax.

I passed the February 2021 CA Bar Exam. I'm a repeat taker of the CA bar exam, and I finally passed this test with the help of BarMax!! Jen from the BarMax team, I believe, was the key to my success on this exam. I'm so thankful for the BarMax program and the amazing tutors and support from the BarMax team! BarMax has all of the tools to pass the CA bar.

A coworker who had passed the bar a few years prior recommended the Barmax question bank. I purchased such and went through almost every single one of those questions. I must say that the use of former bar questions FAR surpassed the “allegedly” similar questions from Kaplan or Themis in terms of preparation.

(REAL QUESTIONS >>>> those bogus questions that the Kaplan and Themis tutors write) When I was taking the actual MBE portion of the bar, it felt like routine because I was so accustomed to the question formats, calls, and answer choices. It worked to a T. As a customer, I wish to commend the fact that the company uses actual MBE questions for that exact reason.Second, I’ve seen the Youtube ads and chuckle because the other huge benefit that I appreciated was the versatility. I downloaded the app and was able to answer practice MBE questions from the question bank on my phone allowing me to study literally anywhere ranging from the side of the pool, to the porcelain throne, to the DMV waiting area, etc.I passed my bar exam this time around with flying colors including a WAY higher MBE score. I intend to recommend Barmax to every one of my friends/colleagues/law students who either failed this time around or have yet to take their Bar exam. Thank you. Barmax proved to be absolutely worth it.Last thing: the T-Shirt they sent with the practice book and question bank is a great workout shirt but I want another one. Where can I buy another one?

Best for the money. I used BarMax for the California bar but due to work couldn't complete the material and unfortunately failed. I diligently worked through the material for my first UBE exam and I passed on my first attempt. In comparison to the high cost bar prep courses BarMax is the best out there.

Failed three times, twice with barbri. With barbri, the time between marking an mbe question incorrectly and learning the answer during grading, was too long. Testmax mbe questions give automatic responses to questions, allowing you to form those associations immediately.

Have faith in yourself but put your time into Testmax. You can do this!

I was a repeat bar taker. After being unsuccessful, I decided to go with a different bar prep program for the July 2019 California Bar Exam. I researched several test prep companies before deciding on Barmax; and honestly, Barmax was the BEST CHOICE. Barmax did not overload me with content like my previous program did.

Instead, Barmax boiled down the information necessary for the test, and conveyed it to me in a clear, concise, and convenient manner. When it came the to take the bar, I felt adequately prepared and confident about what I knew. On November 15th, my name appeared on the pass list. Thank you, Barmax.

After failing the Bar repeatedly using another Bar Prep Course, I passed after switching over to BarMax. This was the best decision I could have made for myself and my future. BarMax, unlike other prep courses, enabled me to continue to work full time without filling burned out everyday and successfully pass the July 2019 UBE.

I only needed my score to increase a few points, but I actually saw a 20point increase. I am grateful and thankful. Don't be afraid to step out of the "Bar Prep Course Norm" and try BarMax.

Wish I knew about BarMax sooner. I failed the Bar twice using Barbri and I'm trying BARMax on my third try after it came highly recommended to others who passed with this program. So far, I have no complaints. I like that the lectures are short and more concise. The multiple choice are also similar to how the Bar exam tests. If you're debating whether BARMax is right for you, it is, stop doubting!

After failing the D.C. Bar using another large bar prep program, I was a little down. Taking the bar again would be expensive, plus I would have to pay another large fee to repeat the bar prep course. Not knowing if it would work, I took a chance on BarMax. The program was reasonably priced, easy to follow, and very effective.

Even though I didn’t pass the barb i was very close to passing: it was totally my fault as I didn’t practice a single essay. Bar max is very concise. Definitely recommend/

BarMax is amazing!. I took the bar 4 times. After using bar max combined with personal dedication to the program I improved my ube score by the necessary 19 points needed when compared to my third attempt. The price was genuinely affordable and provided all the necessary tools at my finger tips while either on my phone, my iPad or a laptop.

The multiple choice function with study mode and test mode were beneficial. My first Attempt I enrolled in other bar prep course, I was close to my state's ube required score on the initial exam. There were certain functions I felt very useful and the company was generous enough to work with my limited finances by providing a discounted rate based upon my gpa. However this further illustrates how much of a positive impact Bar Max was to my success. The second time around I took it a year after the first time. Yet I recall the academic advisors warning of how much more difficult the bar is if you are more than a year removed from law school; working a regular job to makes ends meet; and again working in the requisite time needed to implore several other different study habits to include assistance provided by my law school and additional help from the other bar prep course previously mentioned.... this time my score dropped significantly and was now 13 points away from a passing score. My Multiple choice scored dropped 15 points but my essay score improved to a passable level. Third time around I repeated step 2 but did not use a bar prep course. I also can openly admit I did not spend the necessary time to feel comfortably know the material. I missed by 19 points. My essay scored stay the same range... which means my multiple choice score dropped again. The fourth time around I at to ask the court for special permission to retake the test for a fourth time. An examiner in my state only gets to sit three times before having to get the court's permission each time after. This means although the court granted this request, The was no guarantee I would be able to sit for a fifth exam. At this time, I purchased BarMax, I stuck a rigorous outline schedule every morning. I practiced essay writing under timed conditions and I used BarMax daily whether study or test mode. Sometimes I studied/tested specific areas until I perfected them, other times I was able to use the mixed question database to feel more like the test and see how I performed under testing conditions. This app provides accurate law, go back and double check if you get an answer wrong... read why... look the referenced law up provided in the answer if I needed a better understanding... and thoroughly enjoyed reviewing the comments/questions by other users to see that others often time had the wrong answer for similar reasons that I did but then the response would be a reminder to stick to call of question and rule of law, include know exemptions. I will always believe that The Most important part of my success is when I used BARMAX as the official way to study for my UBE. It also helped with my essays because I used the same information BarMax provides to assist me with my essay outlining the 7 core areas the multiple choice focuses on. This came in handy because on my last exam, many of these core 7 were tested in some shape on the essay portion. Best purchase I have ever made!

For the last fifteen years, I have worked within banks of all sizes in Trusts, Estates and Wealth Management fields. After much consideration, I decided I wanted to go back and take the Bar Exam to start my own practice.

You can do practice questions on your phone or iPad at any time, and the whole system is user-friendly. I graduated in May 2016 and started clerking for a district court judge in Saint Paul, MN, in June 2016. The legal job market in the Twin Cities is externally competitive and I could not pass up the opportunity for employment. I took the MN Bar in the summer of 2016 and again in the summer of 2017.

I used Kaplan as a study resource, but could not find a good balance between keeping up their study schedule, working, and keeping myself somewhat sane.The BarMax app enabled me to easily listen to lectures and drill multiple choice questions whenever I had downtime. I enjoyed BarMax and felt it was worth the investment. I sat for the MN Bar again this past February [2018], passed, and will be sworn in this coming May.

It is thanks to BarMax that I passed the NY Bar exam. I had failed the exam 4 times before, having taken and/ or used Barbri, PMBR, and Baroutlines.com. None of these gave me the kind of practical, user-friendly review I got from BarMax. I also needed a comprehensive review since years had passed for me since my last attempt at the exam, and BarMax provided that as well.

Admittedly, I thought the price tag was a bit steep when I purchased BarMax but I took a chance and it has been well worth it!I paid 4 times that for other courses without the results. BarMax is the Bar review method of the future. I took a chance and succeeded, and if it worked for me it can work for anyone!

BarMax changed my life. I had failed the bar exam twice using Barbri both times because my law school pushed Barbri on all of its students. Barbri cut off my access to their program after I failed twice and, to get it again I would need to pay thousands more.

I found BarMax online and after doing some research and seeing so many students raving about the program I decided to give it a try.My score went up drastically after BarMax and I passed the UBE bar exam! I couldn’t believe it, I had almost given up. Not only is BarMax half the price of other bar programs, but its study schedule is structured WAYYYYY better than Barbri and I felt like I learned twice as much as when I had studied the past two times. Plus, you get to keep access to the materials for life!! Read about BarMax and research it yourself. I will always recommend it to anyone I know who is studying for the bar. I am a BarMax believer!
