I'm a foreigner (Australia) and I researched for a while before selecting Bar Max. I'm a few weeks in I am so happy I did. All the resources and tools are great! The office hour sessions explain each style of examination plus how you should actively study instead of passively study (which I had been doing previously!).

The office hour sessions explain each style of examination plus how you should actively study instead of passively study (which I had been doing previously!). I see there are targeted office hours which will be great if I'm stuck on an issue. I've also changed my study plan based on the timetable and now I feel confident I'll be ready July! The flash cards are great to do after listening to a lecture and before attempting an MBE as they further help to clarify understanding. Then of course they'll be great for the memorization phase. I've also started on the MBE questions at the end of each sub section and found the open book method to be a really effective way to learn at this early stage of studying. I found if I follow the suggested approach of answering each question as correct or incorrect (accompanied my reasoning) before checking the answer then I'm likely to answer the question correctly. Further, checking my explanations against the explanation provided for each correct/incorrect response on the answer screen is helpful. I like the idea of linking the old message board conversations to each MBE question to. Re MEE - I love that you're able to submit 10 essays. I plan to submit my first essay in the coming days so I can receive feedback early on to ensure I don't waste time practicing doing essays the wrong way. Last, the flexibility this program provides is fabulous. I've listened to videos while driving or stuck in traffic and I expect to use the flash cards in the memorization phase later on while on the go - like on the treadmill!

I bought testmax because it was online and flexible and I could do it at my own pace. I also got the lectures and notes as well as practice MBE forever. I hadn’t practiced law in 5 years and had only practiced in Australia, so I had a big task ahead of me. BarMax is a very practical program that clearly can get you over the line as I passed first time.

Highly recommend this program as a solution to the almost Kafkaesque experience of taking the California bar!

I am a foreign trained lawyer and passed first time with TestMax! The materials are comprehensive but manageable, and the program allows you to study flexibly to fit in with your needs. I also had a great tutor who helped with all of my questions and worked through areas specific to the US with me. Would recommend!

The Best Bar Prep Guide in the Market!I’m a foreign law educated and I used BarMax to take New York Bar Exam. It is very easy to use. A complete and comprehensive bar prep guide. As a parent with a full-time job, taking the bar exam 10 years after graduating law school is not easy.

I'm a foreign attorney and passed the bar exam on the first try with a score of 316. I could not have done it without BarMax! The course materials are comprehensive but not overloaded, and the app interface is extremely user-friendly. The instructors were extremely helpful in helping me understand certain concepts better and always answered my queries promptly.

The BarMax materials and curriculum for the babar really gave me a good structure and access to all the necessary study materials. More importantly, my tutor, Jennifer, was absolutely amazing. She took the time to really get to know me and thus pin point my exact strengths and weaknesses.

She found ways to play to my strengths, and was extremely thoughtful about how to address my weaknesses using my strengths. She was so empathetic and communicative, and was dedicated to creating a study system that was catered to my learning style, while constantly checking in with me to ensure that each study practice was the best way to move forward. Jennifer also took a wholistic approach in that she was clear that my mental and physical health was equally important to my success as my studying was. Thanks to her guidance and support, I went into the exam feeling confident and was able to pass on the first try!

Bar Max was a good fit for me. I am a foreign-trained lawyer and was not overwhelmed with Bar Max's layout. The lectures, flashcards and practice questions paired with Whitney - an EXCELLENT tutor, helped me pass the exam.Highly recommended!Thank you Bar Max!

BarMax was a good fit for me. Their outlines are not overwhelming--focuses on the important rules. Reading the past essay and MPT questions was a big help in my bar exam review. They now have Office Hours Session videos, which are very helpful.

I PASSED THE NEW YORK BAR EXAM THE FIRST TIME AS A FOREIGN LAW STUDENT!! I am from England, and I have an LLM degree from a North Carolina law school. While I was there I heard a lot about various providers (a lot of advertising from Barbri and Kaplan).
I PASSED THE NEW YORK BAR EXAM THE FIRST TIME AS A FOREIGN LAW STUDENT!! I am from England, and I have an LLM degree from a North Carolina law school. While I was there I heard a lot about various providers (a lot of advertising from Barbri and Kaplan). I decided to postpone taking the bar exam for a few years due to other commitments, and when I finally decided I was ready to take it, I did not know which provider to go for. I found out that a girl from my UK University had passed the California bar exam and so I asked her which provider she studied with. She told me BarMax! I had never heard of them before, but she had nothing but good things to say! I decided to look into them and realised they were the perfect course for me! Not only were they one of the cheapest providers for foreign students, but unlike the other providers, their materials are accessible forever (this actually worked out in my favour when COVID-19 broke out and the bar exam had to limit their pool of eligible applicants, meaning I had to wait another year to sit the exam than I had originally planned)! BarMax's materials were extremely comprenhensive. From taking a 2-3 year gap between law school and the bar, I had forgotten a lot of things, and from being foreigner a lot of the subjects were subjects I had never taken a class in, in neither the US or the UK (etc secured transactions), but Barmax explained things in a very simple way and made it easy to understand! When I did have questions, I always used the chat feature and would get very clear responses! The tutors really do care about our success and want to help us as much as they can! I also found the access to past questions extremely useful (I'd recommend using these as much as possible), along with the essay/MPT feedback (although I didn't submit as many practice questions as I probably should have!!)! Furthermore, the study calendar which I used closer to the exam really helped keep me on track! I fully recommend BarMax to anyone thinking about taking the bar exam!!

Couldn't have passed without BarMax!. As a foreign attorney, taking the California bar exam was one of the hardest but I couldn't have made it without the help of BarMax! The course outline and tutoring are exemplary but most of all, the cost is so reasonable. I would recommend BarMax to any first timer or foreign attorney. Thank you BarMax and the BarMax team!

I’ve used BarMax to prepare for the bar exam and have nothing but good things to say about them. As a foreign lawyer working full time, passing the bar seemed to be an almost impossible task. BarMax gave me the flexibility and the tools to succeed. Special kudos to my tutor Celeste Boles!

I did not do JD from a US School, and studied limited subjects during the LLM course I pursued in my university. When I started with Bar exam prep, I had heard about Barbri, Themis and Kaplan courses. But I did my own research and came across BarMax.

I chose BarMax because it offered only real MBE questions, the course materials were not too intimidating, and the plan was at a decent price range, not being exorbitantly expensive. I loved the fact that I could do my entire prep online, without having to read hard books. The phone app was also very good. I could listen to lectures or do some practice questions whenever and wherever I got time. I am so glad I took BarMax because I passed the exam in my first attempt. I give them a lot of credit for making this happen. Thank you BarMax!

Taking Bar Max was the best decision of my life. I had taken the NY Bar in July 2019 and missed it 2 points (264). Was quite devastating given that I had spent a lot of money and time with BARBRI. For the February Bar I decided to go with BarMAx and the experience was not only amazing but fruitful.

Passed on the first try!. Just passed the WA bar exam from February. Used only BarMax and paid less than a 1/4 of what BarBri charges. Not only that, BarMax didn't make me study 10-12 hours a day like my colleagues using BarBri were doing! BarMax gives you exactly what you need to succeed without bogging you down with needless topics and study time.

It is good, but I might want to have much more examples in lectures. Some lectures take is not clear for non-native speaker.

I am a foreign jurisdiction attorney and never attended any US law school, so I needed a bar review that (1) would make me understand the black letter law easier and faster. Moreover, I was a full time employee who could not afford to be off work to do a full time bar review.

So, I also needed one that is (2) portable so I can review on my down time at work (and anywhere and anytime that would allow me to do so.)Barmax satisfied those bar review needs of mine. I can honestly say that without Barmax, I would not have passed the California February 2017 bar exam.

No dead weight; a lean mean bar exam reasoning machine!. Love the way it integrates the substantive lessons with the issue spotting, examples and historic bar exam questions. One single process, instead of three.

Great bar review course and app. I am a foreign educated lawyer and I studied using only this course for the New York Bar July 2017 and passed first time. The lectures are great (especially the Civil Procedure lectures which are so good I could listen to them for fun). I used all the materials and the flash cards for the MBE subjects were really focused on what you need to know.

Great. This app was fantastic. It was the only prep tool I used and it has everything you need to pass. I passed the NY bar in Feb 16 using the materials in this app. Comprehensive, easy to use, great lectures. If the sound is low - turn it up!

Flash card section was a bit unnecessary in my opinion but then again I've never been a fan of those types of study aids. Six full weeks of study with this app and you can pass the exam.

BarMax Helped me Pass. I am a "foreign" lawyer (Canada) who was preparing to write the Washington State Bar Exam. I did not attend a US law school so I needed a crash course in US Constitutional Law, US criminal law, and an overview of the other areas of law so I could figure out how US law differed from Canadian law.

I did not attend a US law school so I needed a crash course in US Constitutional Law, US criminal law, and an overview of the other areas of law so I could figure out how US law differed from Canadian law. I had previously attempted ( and obviously failed) the exam without a bar review course, and just using self study with textbooks and law school exam prep manuals ( while continuing to work full time). Preparing for a second try seemed overwhelming and hopeless until I saw this app. I did not have the time or money for a full bar review course, and I prefer self study anyways. I found the lectures very helpful in determining which topics were the most important and to fill in knowledge gaps in various areas of law. Some lecturers are better than others, the ones that gave examples of how the law would be applied were most helpful. But, overall the outlines and lectures helped me save a considerable amount of time in having to distill a massive volume of information into bite sizes. I did not use the flashcards much as I don't find them helpful in any setting, just a personal learning style thing. The practice exam questions are a key feature in this app and were the best way for me to learn where I needed to spend more time reviewing. Some questions have explanations to the answers but for those that don't you can email a question and get the explanation. The study schedule included with the app was also helpful in pacing my study. I was not entirely certain how much time to spend in each area of law. Overall, I am very happy that I purchased this app, saved myself thousands of dollars, and now I have passed the bar exam and I don't have to study criminal law or constitutional law anymore. Thank you BarMax for giving an alternate option to bar review.
