Additionally, they had over 1300 actual MBE questions including the illusive CivPro MBE questions that has only recently been added.

I passed the February 2025 UBE with a 320!
I took the bar exam in Feb. 2025 as an attorney seeking admission in a new state. I passed the bar 20 years ago in my home state and this was my first time taking a test in 20 years. So to say I felt like I was starting over from scratch and was overwhelmed would be an understatement. Pros of BarMax: Very affordable.
I took the bar exam in Feb. 2025 as an attorney seeking admission in a new state. I passed the bar 20 years ago in my home state and this was my first time taking a test in 20 years. So to say I felt like I was starting over from scratch and was overwhelmed would be an understatement. Pros of BarMax: Very affordable. You can start when you want; you are not beholden to a certain start date which is GREAT for non-traditional takers/people who need more time. They have a very helpful video library on various topics. Instructors are helpful and seem invested in seeing students pass. There is a MASSIVE database of prior NCBE-licensed questions to use for practice with analytics. Nearly all of the MBE questions have explanations which is helpful for learning. You get all the MEE questions going back a long, long way along with the model answers. Cons of BarMax: I think BarMax is best for motivated self-starters. It gives you all the tools and guidelines, but ultimately, it's up to you to leverage those tools. It's probably not the right prep course for people who need a lot of hand-holding and who aren't self-motivated. Also, I did end up supplementing the course with a few free and paid resources. But given the low cost of BarMax, you can easily afford to buy an extra set of outlines like LeanSheets as a supplement. (I also used Brainscape's flashcards.) Verdict: I passed the February 2025 UBE with a 320! We had a particularly difficult administration, with the mean national MBE score being historically low. I was extremely happy with my score (155 MBE/165 writing), very happy with my experience, and very happy with the course. I would recommend BarMax to returning attorney takers who need a course with no fluff, and to self-motivated examinees on a budget who want just what they need to pass and nothing more.

I am a Law Office Study Program (LOSP) student and I used BarMax FYLSE to prepare for the October 2024 Baby Bar. I’m proud to say I passed the exam on my first try! As an LOSP student, I needed a bar prep program that wouldn’t expire after a few months. I wanted something I could use throughout my four-year journey to the bar exam.

I passed the New York bar on my first attempt whilst working full time (and planning a wedding!) and put this down to BarMax.
As a foreign qualified lawyer 10 years out of law school, I knew that I needed a flexible study programme to fit in during my limited free time - Bar Max offered exactly that. The course materials are concise and the videos are extremely helpful to guide you through past essay questions / how to approach the multiple choice portion of the exam.

I exclusively followed the BarMax study plan leading up to the February 2024 exam and found that BarMax provided highly accessible resources and tools, with prompt and practical essay feedback, without which I would not have passed.

After being out of law school for 27 years and many years removed from law practice, I passed the Texas bar exam on the first attempt. BarMax bar exam prep is comprehensive but focuses on what you actually need to know to pass the bar, and the price is great! The office hours, graded essays and performance tests were invaluable. I could not be more pleased. I highly recommend BarMax.

I passed on my first try, and that was fifteen years after law school.
At times during bar prep, I'd look at other material (books or videos from competitors) to confirm information and to hear a variety of rule formulations, and I grew to rely most heavily on BarMax's material. It's a good program.

I knew Barbri and Themis weren't for me, so I went with Barmax. I loved being able to listen to lectures while at the gym rather than watching videos, and the outline felt streamlined enough to be easily memorized. I appreciated that they used only former bar exam questions for multiple choice and essays. I felt prepared coming into the exam, and I ended up passing on the first try!

He’s still doing prep, so we’ll see. I went to a low ranked school on a near full ride.I only did 604 prep questions, and answered 362 right. Putting me at 60%, which will land you right about at the pass line which is exactly where I tested. I focused on my stronger subjects then did limited prep on the ones that gave me trouble. I figured i could maximize points in key areas.I took the bar with no sleep the day of, landing an hour and thirty from the test site. I arrived 30 minutes before, didn’t sleep that night, and still managed a 130.6 on the MBE and 136.9 on the MEE/MPT.I’ll probably retake and shoot for 270, but I passed for where I was testing w/268. So, honestly I’m pretty satisfied. Reciprocity is a thing so I’m not too worried about my score. And I can also work in fed courts.My overall experience has convinced me it’s not about where you go, it’s about what materials you use. These materials haven’t failed me once.My friends who didn’t pass felt like the competitors didn’t expose them to good enough questions. They used my materials in a few study sessions with me and felt like they slapped. They’ve now ordered. Im not getting any referral fees, I didn’t ask. I just want everyone to know how great I think this sh** is.13/10, good materials.

I am a Canadian lawyer, and a single mom of an 18 month old. BarMax and the team, specially Celeste, were vital to my success. I passed with 8 points to spare, on my first try. Celeste helped me to restructure my study plan according to my life situation.

She gave me practical tips, guided me on how implement the feedback on my essays and never let me give up after not performing too well in the practice exams.I do have one constructive criticism about the course material- the lectures are extremely dry and are almost read word-for-word from the outline which I did not find as helpful and had to supplement with the BarMax office hours (HIGHLY RECOMMEND!) and other free resources online, to better grasp the material (though this may not be an issue for U.S. law school graduates).All around I highly recommend BarMax!! If I did it with all of the life challenges I was facing- anyone can!!

I bought this on my last year of Law school. But the website layout was unimpressive and was difficult to navigate- things I need to see in plain view are hidden. So, I didn't use BarMax and paid 2 separate products- one for MBEs, and another one for Essays/PT. I did not pass the first try. But now, I decided to give BarMax another try.

I realized that BarMax lecture presentations were superior to the other products, and my essay writing has significantly improved with BarMax essay instructions. I feel confident that I have a better understanding of the substantial laws, and feel confident and "at ease" with the essay writing.

I am a Washington Law Clerk so I did not go to Law School. I worked full time and have six children, two of whom have autism and three who have ADD. When I’m home they need me.

I had to attend several IEP and accommodation meetings for school for all of them, I worked full time, was a Rule 9 appearing in court, and the first night of the bar exam, my one year old got a small fever, and I was up with her all night, and the 2nd night of the test, we had to take her to the ER and I was up again all night with her (it was not serious or contagious thankfully), but she had a fever and needed rest and cuddles. I got about 3 hours of sleep both nights, and I was distracted worrying for my daughter. I was distracted during the test, but I had five hours with a Barmax Tutor, I submitted about 7 practice essays/MPTs, and I had only had about 90 intensive hours to prep for the bar (out of a recommended 400/600 hours). Barmax was on point and it helped me get the materials I needed. I ended up with a 290 which isn’t bad given all the challenges I experienced personally. I think if I had had more study time and a little less adversity on exam days, I might have done much better, but a pass is a pass, and I’m so very happy. I had several contemporaries that used a very famous Barprep company who did the 400 hours and they were overwhelmed and did not pass. I paid a fraction of the price, and passed on my first try, and was less stressed going into the exam. I explained to my tutor at Barmax what my study schedule was, and she was honest, she didn’t think I needed to do 400 hours, but thought I wasn’t going to get enough, but when I said that all I had was about 90 hours. Once she knew I couldn’t squeeze in any more studying she fully committed to my situation and helped me focus in and target the things I needed. I appreciated her honesty and her designing a plan that was perfect for me, and she supported me with what my specific needs and process were. Thank you Barmax!!!! And Thank you Melissa A (my tutor).

I took the MPRE four times with various programs until using TestMax (BarMax) and passing with the help of my tutor Jennifer Carr. She helped tailor my studying to my study style, instead of using a "one size fits all" approach like Barbri or Kaplan. I enjoyed our sessions, she kept is very positive which is exactly what someone needs when they are going through these stressful experiences.

I loved the fact that there was only one lecture book to refer to, which made the studying more manageable for me, especially given that I was only studying in the evenings and on the weekends, and I did not find it overwhelming like I did when I chose a competitor test prep company for the CA Bar exam that I sat a few years back.It's also definitely more affordable than other bar prep companies and that was another reason why I chose it when I decided that I wanted to get licensed in another state.I also liked using the app on my phone and listening to lectures as I was doing other things/running errands.I could not stress how much I recommend BarExam!

I'm a foreign attorney and passed the bar exam on the first try with a score of 316. I could not have done it without BarMax! The course materials are comprehensive but not overloaded, and the app interface is extremely user-friendly. The instructors were extremely helpful in helping me understand certain concepts better and always answered my queries promptly.

The BarMax materials and curriculum for the babar really gave me a good structure and access to all the necessary study materials. More importantly, my tutor, Jennifer, was absolutely amazing. She took the time to really get to know me and thus pin point my exact strengths and weaknesses.

She found ways to play to my strengths, and was extremely thoughtful about how to address my weaknesses using my strengths. She was so empathetic and communicative, and was dedicated to creating a study system that was catered to my learning style, while constantly checking in with me to ensure that each study practice was the best way to move forward. Jennifer also took a wholistic approach in that she was clear that my mental and physical health was equally important to my success as my studying was. Thanks to her guidance and support, I went into the exam feeling confident and was able to pass on the first try!

I am not the traditional Bar Exam applicant. I am 75, graduated from Law School in 1978, passed the Bar Exams for DC and Maryland in 1978 and 1979, respectively, and stopped practicing law well over 10 years ago. The BarMax program provided a condensed book that mirrored the lectures provided (on some I just used the book as the lecture reiterated what was in the book).

But, for me the most helpful aspects of the program were the practice questions, the practice tests and the interactions with the BarMax Staff – Celeste was off scale great. Where I did not understand the answer, Celeste got an email and she patiently explained. I think that each applicant needs to set up a program using the Book, lectures, questions, and BarMax Staff and then stick to it with confidence. I passed the Bar Exam on the first try with a significant margin to spare. Thanks.

I just found out today that I passed the bar exam on my first try! This even after being out of law school for 12 years and not being granted all of my required testing accommodations.I could have never done this without BarMax, and more importantly, BarMax’s private tutor I hired, Matias Gonzalez.Matias became personally invested in my success and me failing was never an option for him.

Best for the money. I used BarMax for the California bar but due to work couldn't complete the material and unfortunately failed. I diligently worked through the material for my first UBE exam and I passed on my first attempt. In comparison to the high cost bar prep courses BarMax is the best out there.

I did not do JD from a US School, and studied limited subjects during the LLM course I pursued in my university. When I started with Bar exam prep, I had heard about Barbri, Themis and Kaplan courses. But I did my own research and came across BarMax.

I chose BarMax because it offered only real MBE questions, the course materials were not too intimidating, and the plan was at a decent price range, not being exorbitantly expensive. I loved the fact that I could do my entire prep online, without having to read hard books. The phone app was also very good. I could listen to lectures or do some practice questions whenever and wherever I got time. I am so glad I took BarMax because I passed the exam in my first attempt. I give them a lot of credit for making this happen. Thank you BarMax!

I would not have passed the NY Bar Exam on my first try without Barmax. Period. While I was initially drawn to Barmax because of the price, what really sets them apart is their study strategy and their exclusive use of actual Bar Exam questions. No made up questions. The Barmax team is very responsive and the webinars were really helpful.

Passed on the first try!. Just passed the WA bar exam from February. Used only BarMax and paid less than a 1/4 of what BarBri charges. Not only that, BarMax didn't make me study 10-12 hours a day like my colleagues using BarBri were doing! BarMax gives you exactly what you need to succeed without bogging you down with needless topics and study time.

A lot of my colleagues barely made 70-80% completion of BarBri and they were spending upwards of $4,000 for it. Thanks so much BarMax, you were a lifesaver!

For the price, BarMax can't be beat, and its quality is certainly good enough that you'll pass if you put in the time. I did Barbri in 2014 for my first state and switched to BarMax for my second state in 2018 (and passed both on the first try). BarBri's explanations of answers are sometimes more thorough, but having done both, I'd recommend BarMax because of the price.

BarMax is amazing!. I took the bar 4 times. After using bar max combined with personal dedication to the program I improved my ube score by the necessary 19 points needed when compared to my third attempt. The price was genuinely affordable and provided all the necessary tools at my finger tips while either on my phone, my iPad or a laptop.

The multiple choice function with study mode and test mode were beneficial. My first Attempt I enrolled in other bar prep course, I was close to my state's ube required score on the initial exam. There were certain functions I felt very useful and the company was generous enough to work with my limited finances by providing a discounted rate based upon my gpa. However this further illustrates how much of a positive impact Bar Max was to my success. The second time around I took it a year after the first time. Yet I recall the academic advisors warning of how much more difficult the bar is if you are more than a year removed from law school; working a regular job to makes ends meet; and again working in the requisite time needed to implore several other different study habits to include assistance provided by my law school and additional help from the other bar prep course previously mentioned.... this time my score dropped significantly and was now 13 points away from a passing score. My Multiple choice scored dropped 15 points but my essay score improved to a passable level. Third time around I repeated step 2 but did not use a bar prep course. I also can openly admit I did not spend the necessary time to feel comfortably know the material. I missed by 19 points. My essay scored stay the same range... which means my multiple choice score dropped again. The fourth time around I at to ask the court for special permission to retake the test for a fourth time. An examiner in my state only gets to sit three times before having to get the court's permission each time after. This means although the court granted this request, The was no guarantee I would be able to sit for a fifth exam. At this time, I purchased BarMax, I stuck a rigorous outline schedule every morning. I practiced essay writing under timed conditions and I used BarMax daily whether study or test mode. Sometimes I studied/tested specific areas until I perfected them, other times I was able to use the mixed question database to feel more like the test and see how I performed under testing conditions. This app provides accurate law, go back and double check if you get an answer wrong... read why... look the referenced law up provided in the answer if I needed a better understanding... and thoroughly enjoyed reviewing the comments/questions by other users to see that others often time had the wrong answer for similar reasons that I did but then the response would be a reminder to stick to call of question and rule of law, include know exemptions. I will always believe that The Most important part of my success is when I used BARMAX as the official way to study for my UBE. It also helped with my essays because I used the same information BarMax provides to assist me with my essay outlining the 7 core areas the multiple choice focuses on. This came in handy because on my last exam, many of these core 7 were tested in some shape on the essay portion. Best purchase I have ever made!

I finished 4 years in December 2017 and passed the February 2018 administration of the California Bar Exam.Regardless of my motivation, BarMax helped me pass the California bar on first attempt and I am absolutely sold on this system.BarMax lectures were well-delivered and as entertaining as such material can ordinarily be. Outlines were complete and helpful. The MBE questions were extensive and well-organized. I recommend BarMax to anyone!

This was my 3rd sitting for a bar exam. I’d taken the CA bar twice with the assistance of Kaplan with disappointing results. For my first sitting for the UBE I decided to shop around, literally, for a bar prep and stumbled on BarMax. The price was right giving the timing and I signed up.
This was my 3rd sitting for a bar exam. I’d taken the CA bar twice with the assistance of Kaplan with disappointing results. For my first sitting for the UBE I decided to shop around, literally, for a bar prep and stumbled on BarMax. The price was right giving the timing and I signed up. The outlines were concise and to the point (unlike Kaplan’s which are long winded and drawn out) and in conjunction with assistance from my professors, I was able to take and pass the UBE on my first attempt.The UBE is a different beast from the CA bar exam because of the difference in timing for essays but the prep provided the company was phenomenal. You just have to put in the work. So a huge thank you to BarMax. I will be using them to resit for the CA bar. You do not need to spend thousands of dollars on prep to pass.

Passed the CA Bar on my first try!. I'm not a top student or test-taker. I am a busy, working attorney. Bar Max gave me everything I needed in a streamlined, easy to use anywhere package. It had everything I needed to pass the CA bar exam. I agree with some of the critiques--slow customer service, some inconsistencies and gaps in the materials, some less-than-compelling presentations.

I passed the February 2018 CA Bar Exam on my first try! I’m 51, began my law school studies in 1996 and spent the last couple of decades raising 4 children, working as a community volunteer, political activist and am in my 6th year as a school board member for a large school district. I’m 51, began my law school studies in 1996 and spent the last couple of decades raising 4 children, working as a community volunteer, political activist and am in my 6th year as a school board member for a large school district. Last year, I decided to take my first ever bar exam. I needed a bar prep tailored to my circumstance and after several months of research, I was attracted to BarMax’s immediate accessibility to all course materials, Mehran’s personal responsiveness and the relatively low cost. I felt like I was starting from scratch and needed more time to prepare, but decided to take the February CA Bar Exam. I used the hardcopy 14 subject outlines book to retype my own shorter versions as a studying process, studied from as many multiple choice questions and answers as I could (over 1400), and worked on numerous practice essays and some performance tests. I loved the audio lectures from the various law professors throughout the country! I had my favorites. The content of the outlines almost perfectly matched the MBE answer explanations, reinforcing the information. BarMax is a superior program that gave me everything I needed to pass the CA Bar Exam.

Passed the bar with flying colors using BarMax!. BarMax has everything you need in a bar review course: real released questions (both essay and multiple choice), clear, concise, to-the-point outlines, and it is affordable and convenient! I liked how I could access it any time on my iPhone or iPad. I passed the bar exam on my first try in a UBE state using only BarMax. Highly recommend.

Bravo BarMax. Students at unaccredited schools have the difficult burden of passing the FYLSX. I used BarMax on my iPhone extensively as part of my study regime for the June 2015 administration. I was very fortunate to pass on my first attempt with a 639 scaled. Knowing my 84% MBE score was in large part due to BarMax, I turned to BarMax again for my August 2016 MPRE preparation.

I was very fortunate to pass on my first attempt with a 639 scaled. Knowing my 84% MBE score was in large part due to BarMax, I turned to BarMax again for my August 2016 MPRE preparation. Another success — a 124 scaled on the first attempt. Given those successes, I didn't hesitate to purchase BarMax's full California Bar Review. I sit for the CBX in July 2018, and I know that practicing with real MBE questions is key.

Perfect for licensed attorneys entering new jurisdiction!. I've taken and passed two bar exams, but needed to get licensed in CA. BarMax was an incredibly easy and effective prep course to use to refresh my existing knowledge base. The topics are logically laid out and I loved that multiple choice questions and essay questions are targeted to individual subtopics.
