I passed on my first attempt after taking a 25 year hiatus from the law!
BarMax provides concise, easy to use materials for a very reasonable price. There are literally decades of past MEEs and MPTs with both NCBE answers and test taker sample answers all in one place. Additionally, they had over 1300 actual MBE questions including the illusive CivPro MBE questions that has only recently been added.

My tutor was skilled at keeping me on task and guiding me through any challenges I was having with topics and my writing.

Fantastic program.
I am about three weeks into the program. The lessons are structured and scheduled in a very reasonable order to ensure success. The pedagogic choices are very well thought out. They have a good sense of when a subject is going to need extra attention and when not to belabor a point. The explanations and lectures are clear and bolstered by practice questions you do independently after the lesson.

BarMax was a huge reason that I passed the February 2025 California Bar Exam. I liked that I could take the course at my own pace without getting bogged down with endless videos. The one-on-one tutoring (my assigned tutor was Melissa) was essential for honing my essay strategy and my overall study strategy. Start early, get BarMax, meet with your tutor, and I'm sure you'll do fine.

I passed with a 23-point jump.
I took the bar exam a total of 4 times and passed on my 4th try thanks to BarMax and especially my tutor, Emily Morgan. Each time I retook this exam, my confidence was crushed. I was in a position where I kept getting the same score for each attempt. I thought I could assess my weaknesses on my own but I truly needed someone to help me understand my thought process.

Excellent Platform for L1 and Bar Preparation.
I worked with tutor Jennifer Carr and she was wonderful. Very approachable and thorough in her explanations and made certain to hold me accountable for coming to sessions with work done and ready to be discussed with her. I was able to raise my final grades significantly from Midterm grades, and will continue to utilize Barmax for my law school journey and bar prep. Highly recommend.

VERY GRATEFUL TO BARMAX TO HELP ME SUCCEED
I am the unconventional student, but I NEVER gave up on myself despite ALL the obstacles and odds against me. I am VERY GRATEFUL to BarMax for helping me along my journey to becoming a licensed attorney. I have taken the Bar exam countless times really and I am honestly nervous as I await the November 8 results.

Nevertheless, I KNOW I AM a lawyer and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BarMax to anyone who is self dedicated and self disciplined. I never had the resources financially to afford private tutoring much, so I am still appreciative of the ability to study and test my knowledge as I reach for the fullest of my potential. In a day and age where there are more questions than answers, I am grateful I can learn the law in a practical fashion and make the MOST of my time. I am eternally grateful that the instructors like Celeste, Jennifer, Mehran are ALWAYS here for me. It is REAL instructors and mentors like them that remind me of my passion to help the world become a better place and helps me never to give up my dreams of being a catalyst for change in such a society that needs LAWS to be changed.

Passed working full-time, 18 years after graduation
Took the bar for the first time in July 2024, after graduating from law school in 2006. I was, of course, working full-time while studying, and BarMax allowed me to spread my studying across six months. I couldn't have done it otherwise. I also credit BarMax's use of exclusively released MBE questions with my success.

Across every topic, I went into the exam feeling prepared, despite having never taken several MEE subjects during law school. And I earned a 330 as a result!

This is the only prep course that you will need to be successful on the Bar exam.
I have taken the Bar exam more times than I care to admit but have finally passed in July 2024. My success can be attributed to the BarMax program itself, as well as the availability of the instructors to provide assistance and insight. The study schedule is laid out in a manner that really spoke to way I learn and made the huge amount of information easily digestible.

I have used other Bar prep programs that seem to take pride in the amount of study materials that they send ultimately leading to overwhelming anxiety. BarMax provided two (2!!!) books, one of which was past MBE questions. Only the most tested information is provided and explained professors with an exceptional grasp on any given subject area that may be tested on the exam. I know I sound like I am a paid employee but trust me when I tell you that this is the only prep course that you will need to be successful on the Bar exam.

The outline is short and straight to the point. I also enjoy the Live Classes. In addition, It works with my full-time work schedule and I don't feel overwhelmed either.

I love the flash cards and the breakdown of subjects and the concepts within the subjects. I wish the lectures were captioned but otherwise it's great!

The lectures cover focused areas instead of just a Matrix download of all topics.
I failed the CA Bar before because I was overwhelmed with another bar prep service. I feel much more confident this time around.

Still useful as an attorney.
I still use the outlines as a touch point for black letter law or, for example remembering what the defenses to contract formation are vs excuses from performance etc.

I like the audio lectures, and the live office hours. Sometimes I feel like the MBE answer explanations leave something to be desired. That could also simply be because the test writers seem to apply somewhat arbitrary logic at times.

Took me quite a few tries but I finally passed my UBE with a score high enough to transfer into any state. Being a working single mom, quite a few years out of law school, I had many changes that needed to be made in my life before I was fully able to be prepared.

After wasting my money and time on “Themis” twice, a friend introduced me to barmax, and that was the best decision ever. I would advise everyone to read their outlines very well if you want to pass. The good news is that the outlines are straight to the point and very easy to comprehend. BarMax cares for their students.

They won’t just allow you listen to endless boring pre recorded lectures, they have live hours with real smart humans that break down the knowledge of the law for you. Their tutors are perfect too. Used the BarMax MPRE course as part of my efforts to take the bar for the first time almost twenty years after law school, and scored a 146! I tried other courses along the way, and much preferred BarMax's use of exclusively real prior MPRE questions. I'm now using them to prepare for the July bar exam as well, and am feeling great about my preparation so far. Highly recommend!

After trying Barbri numerous times I found the flexibility associated with the BarMax approach to be far more effective than other programs tried.

I was a Bar-exam re-taker. I used Barmax, completed the course and passed.
All the support staff were extremely helpful. The live classes/office hours were not long boring lectures but taught me EXACTLY what I needed to know for each specific subject. I cannot express my gratitude for Barmax and their staff for helping me achieve this milestone. Would fully recommend the full UBE course for any one taking the exam.

I am scoring higher using Barmax than I have using any other big box bar prep
I like that each subject is parsed out into subtopics. I can focus on doing the lectures, then review the outline, and test on the exact NCBE questions. Repeat taker - I am scoring higher using Barmax than I have using any other big box bar prep, or even self study.

The content is very good.
The Flash cards and MBE questions help with understanding and retention of the information. Also, the archived office hours that discuss MBE question strategies along with essay strategies has been helpful.

The outlines are concise with language I will use on the bar exam, when writing essay responses. They are spot-on when I analyze MBE question answer choices. The lectures from Bar Max staff have helped me with organization and emphasize a practical approach to study.

One of the most helpful suggestions came from Celeste about using the outlines to review the law before selecting an answer choice to an MBE quesiton. I am doing that now in my study.

In BarMax I found everything I needed.
After obtaining my LL.M degree in the U.S. I knew that the next step was taking the NY Bar Exam, which is a major challenge for a Civil Law lawyer (from Chile) like me. I really needed a tool that help me out considering I have a full time job and a family with kids.
